C55 Custom Air Box

Hey everyone.
I will have a Oem C55 Amg air box all modded for sale this coming friday. Going to start on it monday...

If you're not familiar with my air boxes, this is what I do. I mod them by cutting it in half, than I raise it to give the box more air volume. So your engine will breath better and make more power once the ECU reads the more air coming in. You will get better throttle response and performance. And if you drive normally you can get better MPG (not that you'll want to, but it's there..)

The price will be $550.00 shipped within the usa. You won't have to send me your air box. When you receive mine you will want to remove your engine builder plaque and install it in my modded box.

If you want to sell me your air box once you have mine, I can offer $100.00 for it. Can't pay more sorry.

Hope to do some more business with you guys.

Thanks.

Rob, yes you get to use the ones you have now. I modify the TOP portion of the air box. If customer sends his box all he needs to send is the top portion. Than you install the bottom part with filters to the modded air box.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks.

Does each airbox come with its very own thread or can you just use the one at the bottom of the first page over again?

Just got my airbox in! So far it looks great, we experimented with some different types of AMG lettering and unfortunately they just didn't survive my 116° Palm Springs weather. Other than that this box is top notch. It is visibly taller than my stock box so I can tell there's going to be a difference in power. About to hook it up and take the car out for a drive. Will keep everyone updated! Heres some initial pics

Regarding those amg emblems, these were aftermarket ones with cheap double sided tape. They SEEMED good till the heat gets to them as mentioned above. Will NOT be using these anymore. If the c55 airboxes I buy from eBay come with the emblems scratched up I'm going to have to paint them the same color as the air box. Looks really nice and some of my customers have received their boxes like that and no complaints. Painted emblems will also last longer....

Here's a picture.

I had a hell of a time trying to install the new FFE (elbow piece) so I gave up for now and will attempt it again on Saturday, so for now I just have the new airbox installed. I have yet to drive around since we had thunderstorms and flooding in my area yesterday, but I will be taking it out in a few min for some grub. I'll keep everyone posted. So far the box looks great in the engine bay, it is noticeably bigger when it is installed.

Excited to hear your impressions!!! Ultimately, I think we'd all love to see if there are any gains in a Dyno, however intuitively this seems like it would help.

I intend to get a Dyno going in the next few weeks to compare the stock box, the modified box, and then no box at all (just for test purposes), however I can definitively say without needing a Dyno that my car is faster. It may not feel night and day on a stock C55, I couldn't tell you without testing it out, but in my car it's extremely noticeable. I would say it's a must have if you've taken all your cats off, installed headers, and have a tune. When I had all that done I lost a little bit of low end takeoff power and traded for massive power in the higher rpm ranges, as soon as I installed the new airbox and elbow I could immediately feel more power throughout the entire range, definitely gained a bit of my low end acceleration back and that put a huge smile on my face.

Hi AMG enthusiasts, I just took delivery of my airbox with power elbow from Mr. Speed43. I will upload a video of a WOT blast once I get it installed. I am doing the conductor plate and tranny filter change along with the dif change this week. I keep looking at other amg’s but I am really attached to this C55, it is so reliable. I will update soon. 👍
