Believe or not believe

Just an hour ago, when I returned from dinner to pick up my car, golden true, this guy just parked next to me while I thought I had already found this quiet corner so that not to draw attentions or get bullet holes. He did not give a damn and just almost had kissed me

This is a solid evidence of the temptation of C55 to the Mini owners.

Guys , do you still want a Mini to replace your C55 ?
Have fun with the mini... but....sorry , you would end up like this.
Honestly, his car look like a piece of fine art of painting except my phone camera photos did not come out the details

marcc55.

paint the plastic wheel arch, front valance and lower bodywork trim in body color. get real panasport wheels 16x7 (with good rubber so you enjoy the benfit of the gokart like handling).

Marc....I'm the one from Miami that called you regarding your C55.....I also have a Mini Cooper S and enjoy it very much. I installed a full coilover suspension, 19" HRE's and painted all rubber and chrome on the car.

That's a great looking car, nice job!!

All you need now is to drop the C55 V-8 in that baby....

This is one of the better old model swaps..... http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~graham/v8_mini.htm

marktini......no need to drop a C55 V8 when I have a CLK60 Renntech V8.....the Mini's just for fun, actually I plan on giving it to my daughter when she starts driving....she's 2 years old now.
My brother and I just purchased that CLK from a doctor in KY......runs good....408 HP.

Now I am dazed and confused

I cancelled the Mini as I finally decided it is too small for the amount of highway driving I do (mostly so), so now it remains that I will either stick w/C55 or I am searching for a new R32.

We were all excited about your purchase! Oh well. At least now I can recommend the Mitsu EVO MR! But the R32 has my vote as well.

I had an R32. The seats are snug and hold you well but tiring also I think compared to the C55. Also, check out the exhaust sound (flapper opens in exhaust at 45mph and 3100 rpm and gets noticbly louder). I didn't like when it oscillated at the trigger point. There is a mod to cure that (i.e. wire it on or off, switchable). Holds the road like glue though! Interesting, my C55 insurance appears to be about $200 a year cheaper than the R32. Good luck.

Rgds,
Norm

I also had one, loved it, actually I liked the sounds too... I saw this dealer has a used one, the R32 was only made in 2004 (US Models) so a new one may be hard to come by, anyway good luck!

E55 Flint Grey/Merlot
Ekaru's post about trading down is really true. I went from an E39 M5 to a C55 and never felt comfortable in it. I know it's a great car but I had acclimated to a different level of luxury. Finally bit the bullet 2 days ago and traded it for an E55. Pure Bliss. It's exactly what I wanted in the 1st place but thought I could settle for less. As long as you're honest with yourself (and your budget of course) you won't go wrong.

Think about me I came from a heavily modded 2003 996 Coupe to the C55 but i am in the process of putting my $ into other things so I still want a car to have fun with.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
MArc, i am all for your car change. i too have done the same things recently and dont regret it at all. i am past the point in my life where i am worried about proving something to others. get what you will enjoy. an example of a recent car change... i sold my cayenne turbo for a g35, and now i am gonna trade in my g for an evo. go figure.

i never drove the turbo. it spent alot of time at the dealer for alot of stupid things. just got tired of taking it in. i only miss it when i see another on the road when it snows over here in new jersey. other than that, not really.

i want an evo, but i am worried about poor build quality. a good friend has the s2000, nice car. i like it alot. keep me posted on what you do.

i like the g35 alot. its a great car, and it gives me much less issues than any benz i have ever owned. dont know, just thinking about a change. i like the evo, and the thought of being able to drive it in the snow.

I do not have Sirrus, seems like 1/2 the time I'm listening to traffic reports anyway.

I am planning on the new iPod set-up as soon as possible though.
