I asked my dealer if the C55 is on the list of specified '05 models for retrofit kit availability but no answer yet.

I also don't really like Japanese cars, but when I drove the S2000 for the first time, I fell in love with it. The best way to describe it, is to say it feels like a superbike on 4 wheels. Congrats on your descision.

My brother and I just purchased that CLK from a doctor in KY......runs good....408 HP.

Holy ****!!! thats a badass CLK! anymore pics? i remember once seeing a CLK60 at renntech, and it was a doctors car for sale, only it didnt have the widebody like that, it was a widebody but it was pretty much just the fenders pulled alot. I also think it had aboud 500-600hp though.

I also owned a black one...widebody only though...no engine modifications. The silver car is currently at the shop, came in with some transmission issues.

That's weird. All the S2000's here redlined at 9000rpm, even the first models (1999/2000 I think).

The 2004 S200 has reduced redline to 8k I read this in sevral mags online and saw this as well when I drove it. Super fun car as a 2nd car though!

...

i also post at http://www.s2ki.com/forums/

pre 2004 are 2 liter engines with 9000 rpm redlines. 2004 on are 2.2 with redlines of 8000. vtec transition to hilift cams for both at 6000 rpm. 2.2 has a bit more torque.

i researched and bought older model because i wanted the high strung nature - also when you shift at redline 1st to 2nd gear you don't drop out of vtec.

check out the site you'll find tons of good info.

amg fanatic

..i just noticed your location- SA. the s2000 was changed for the american market in 2004 for a bit more torque. the rest of the world continue to get the 2.0 motor- 9000 rpm.

(this is the one to get IMHO)

I wasn't aware that the US models have a 2.2 now. Thanks for the web address, interesting site.
