I think he meant the real xenon D2s bulbs which the manual says you should have the dealer perform.

I've changed the d2s bulbs in my c55 recently to 6000K ones. I don't have photos, but the steps are:

-Remove the big plastic cover(just like u would do to change the hi-beams) from the low-bean section.
-You'll see a connector to the bulb in the center, what you want to do is turn it 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and it should disconnect from the bulb.

-There is a wire spring holding the bulb in place, unlatch the spring and carefully pull the bulb straight out.

Installation is the reverse of the removal steps.

As North_44_C55 says, take your time and be careful!

Dont get anything besides 100% authentic Phillips ultinons, Anything over 6000k that isnt Phillips is asian garbage that will not have even 1/2 of what your OEM 4100k capsules had in output.

Thanks for all u guys reply.

Yea. I bought PIAA 7500k spark blue bulbs....I switched my highbeams myself (H7 size) They r awesome!!!

ABout the D2S bulb, I had a mechanic do it for me....I got 8000K s (i guess asian rubbish) but its good so far...

The guy said there is a trick to removing the D2S bulb, the latch that secures it in place is difficult to use...he said its easy to break..and if it breaks...your screwed...!

thanks y'all!

Agreed, I have the Philips Ultinons. I notice a difference in contrast immediately between the stock 4100K & the new 6000K. Hate to admit it, but for visibility the 4100K offered better contrast of the road ahead. So I would guess with 8000K, it would be even worse.

With regards to the spring latches(there are 2 of them, one on each side of the bulb), its really not that difficult like your mechanic makes it sound. Just squeeze/push the wire out of the slot. If you ever take a careful look at it, its not hard at all.
