It's plausible...the company my buddy works for, he sees A LOT of Benz that drop in value! and I mean drop!!!!
they market a lot of their clients that have Benz on leases w/ $5000, $4000, $3000....discount coupons off their pay-offs just to entice them to buy them in an oppose to returning the leased car.....cuz they DON'T want them back and have to take even a bigger hit at auction....just the other day he mentioned to me they discounted $10k off a 01' CLK 430!!!! 
but also keep in mind too, attributing to the drop in value might of been that they were hosed at the dealer when they first leased it and generally speaking, those who lease/buy Benz' ..price isn't a big concern to them to an extend ,so they don't notice the inflation of the gross cap cost on the lease to begin w/.....

I didn't realize the S600 was an AMG. I thought it was always the S55AMG and now and S65? Also there seems to be other irregularities that makes me wonder what they are really selling. Also, having four owners car could have taken a real beating as stated above. need to look for dings, road rash on the wheels, and cigarette holes in the leather.

For 47k, it's an older S600, but it is still an S600. Vader, you could drop the money on that, update the appearance for peanuts, then swap in a tuned bi-turbo V12 and put the smack down on Dado

lol...If I upgrade it will be the W211 E55..
I drove a 03 last week, the price is still to high..15K miles on it and 80K
I am gonna wait till the W211's hit 50K and get one lol...
I want to keep the C32 for ever, so I have to wait till the price drops on the E55.

you can get em for less... have to stay away from the dreamers... I looked at 2004 E55, no options, 16k miles, 71k.....
