Usually Quattro slows 0-60 down a little...but Audi is usually conservative with their numbers as well.

Well, that is probably on a gentle/safe launch. An AWD vehicle with that much power can get amazing 0-60 times if you drop the clutch. However, that WILL break your tranny eventually, as I can attest having blowing the teeth off 1st gear in my WRX.

I do not blame AUDI for this, but i blame VW AG in general. VW tends to do cookie cutter things with their companies and i feel that the RS model AUDIs will be cookie cutted out to VWs, Seats and everything else VW owns. Just like Lambos V10 is bieng used in the next RS6, and a few other vehicles.
yes.

until vw offers a proper platform that does not weigh 200lbs more than the competition, i would not consider it. quattro is not worth the weight penalty.

that old rs6 was pretty damn nice. too bad so many of audi's cars are quite heavy.

............

i don't see a nav system in there.. wasn't that the complaint on the b6..psuedo nav crap they have? or is it hidden in the middle of the instrument cluster?

I'll give you a hint regarding to Audi Weight .. one word "quattro" IF C55 were to have 4 matic system it will be heavy as well..

I know you'd probably gonna say, but Evo 8 and Sti is not that heavy with AWD system. But at the end of the day you'll see that the car is not solid built, poor sound dampening, and it tend to rattle vs Germany car...

In regards to Audi Nav all B7 will have Nav + plus in which will have screen in the place of the radio-headunit just like BMW, and MB...

Even for B6 model they offered the Nav + plus system for Euro model (US B6 model don't get Nav +)

PS:[edited for typo :p]

I would not underestimate Audi. They make some fine cars. I appeciate all the German manufacturers for what they bring to the table (MB, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW), compared to the Japanese (and other) contributions, which server their own market need. Audi has some great engineering in their Quattro AWD system and certainly does not need to apologize to anyone on the race circuit.

Rgds,
Norm

Stupid Biast mbworld flame warm about to start. That audi is money and it doesnt look or represent anything from saab,vw,toyota or anything. The engine is a master peace high revving 4.2 v8 with 420hp and 315lb/tq with a few mods not talking forced induction you could be flying.

The interior is definetly better then the C32/C55 and the E46 M3. Cant say the m3 will stomp the RS4 cause we havent seen the v8 M3 yet.

Overall great car and I wouldnt mind owning one. I doubt the price will be close to 70k

I agree that the RS4 will be one sick Audi and the interior does kick A$$.

But I still think the price will be around $70k plus whatever premium the dealer will charge if you don't pre-order soon. We will just have to see.

Also, does anyone know if they will make a Tiptronic, or better yet, a DSG version ??

That car looks terrible. Plasticy enough for you?

"suped up Golf" sums it up.

im sorry to say, but I've got a feeling the RS4 will only be marginally faster than a C55... 80 more horsepower than a regular S4, basically same torque, maybe a little heavier (Assuming the engine weighs more)... plus they already said 0-100km/h time of 4.8.

and 420hp 4.2 liters so 100hp/liter. kinda like the M3, only the m3 is only 50k. seems like this new RS4 will be really overpriced.... its just not the same as the B5 RS4 was to the B5 S4....

Audi should have TT'd it for greater yields instead of doing it 'M' style imo...

Are you going by experience between the two or just what it looks like...for the argument of plastics.

There's no comparison between a VW and Audi when it comes to use of materials...

That image was my first exposure to that car. Based on appearance alone, my initial statement of "That car looks terrible" still stands.

It's almost as if Audi overcompensated for the severely drab look of the S4.

Yeah...that front end is damn ugly.

Looks like Audi made improvments to the rims too as the S4 rims just didn't cut it. I really don't like the red lights in the instruments either.

I could be wrong but I thought the new BMW & Audi models that first come out are always ahead of MB. Everyone talks about how much faster these cars are going to be compared to MB's current model but when MB puts out their latest to match 'em, they are faster, right? So I just think to myself...give MB time...they'll show ya!

it's a "reactionary" industry.. the e55 and m5 cars never come out at exactly the same time..

Ugh !

The back lights look like they came off the new Jetta coming, and the headlights look like they came off the 2 door scion coupe.
They could've done better.
