next gen c55?

hey everybody, im in the market for a c55. however, i am only interested in purchasing one as long as i can drive it for 3 years with out a change in design. i dont mind a face lift but cant drive somthing that is going to be old in one year.

if it is not tro much to ask for, when will the next gen c55 come out.

thanx in advance

this is the first year that C55 is introduced. if you buy one now... it shouldn't be changing until 2008

The biggest problem is we are human - we are always tempted.

Rule of thumb - NEVER BUY THE TOP-END MODEL when it is due to be replaced.

I thought about this issue when I was making my C55 decision. My 'excuse' was based on mainly the C55 comes in new as a facelift of a C-Class and I don't want a regular M3 and I can't afford a E55; also, I am getting pretty old for a sporty car if I wait until 2007. :p

Well, 2005 C-Class is a GREAT CAR with a facelift which even CLK will have to copy some features from it. The riding quality is no question at all.

If you get the C55 last year, you have an excuse similar to mine - NEW ARRIVAL. Now , a year past, the C55 is not new anymore.

So, what is new? Before the new generation launch, C350 is pretty 'new', with the same 4-Valve engine from SLK350 and the 7G-Tronic. That is 270+hp with same ride quality as the C55 and considering it is a 7G; it is much better handling.

This C350 machine is laucnhed to kill new BMW's new 330i for sure.

Would one takes a C350 now and replace it after 2 years when there are more choices from MB on AMGs.......? That will leave that to individual needs and personal situations.......

My 1 cent

C55 is the mid-year face lift production of W203. The same case with Lexus RX330 or LS430 (mid year face-lift production of RX300 and LS400) and so forth. Note the engine size increase.

W203 was first released as 2001 model (released in fall 2000 in the US).
Assuming that 1 model year = 6 calendar years for C class (based on previous experience with W202), the next all-new C class will be released as model year 2007.. meaning production release = about fall 2006 next year. So yes, my prediction is that you will see the all new c-class model by fall next year.
Not the AMG version tho, but all new C-class. I'd say the all-new AMG will be launched a year later. Just like when they first launched W203 C32 as 02 model.
Hope this helps.

I recall W203 C-Class launched 9 months after the launch of S-Class.
Based on this, the new gen C-Class will launch in Oct 2006.
