Remapping
Just for your 411: I never remapped anything. Once the MAF was replaced it was like night and day. Car runs like a top, by comparison to the way it ran previously...although I have to admit, the adaptive transmission is something new to me and I dunno or fail to see the difference. Has the car adapted or not yet? I dunno.....Hope this helps you - it's just my 2 cents' worth.

but if i drive it hard for a few minutes it figures out that i'm up to no good and all hesitation is gone. i wish there was a button for that. i guess the kickdown is supposed to activate that too, but i don't like that kickdown button
i like to downshift first and then give it gas, with the kickdown it's all the way around and i'm not sure it's healty for the tranny.
correct me if i'm wrong . . . i'm not a racer or anything so please excuse my ignorance if i'm way off

Downshift manually =all= the time is exactly what I do too. I always row the shifter; car's usually in 3rd around town; down to 2nd a lot. If I don't the "other" problem with our cars becomes evident, where when I step on the peddle, instead of immediately downshifting and locking up the torque converter, the tranni stays in the higher gear, slips the clutch up to about 5K rpm, accelerating slowly because it's in the higher gear, then finally downshift when it's practically at readline...

Since I've changed my MAF the car has shifted great.Since I had my new chip installed it still is just as nice if not even better.The tranny seems to adapt based on engine pwr,driving style,and I guess you could incld manual shifting which I do alot less of since my car has more pwr now with the addition of the new upgraded custom programmed Superchip.

i mean, to pull it from D to 4th requires some force. seems like it's not lubed properly. if i do that once a day or so it goes very easy and nice. as if the car is trying to tell me something
i wonder if that is a feature of the adaptive tranny as well
