SRS Light
If you have encountered such problem with yours please let me know and as always, thank you in advance!
Here's the deal. The 1998 C43's SRS light goes out when she's initially fired up and almost immediately reilluminates.
Does anyone have a clue what might cause this problem? I have reseated the side airbag sensors installed underneath both seats. Also all the plugs underneath both seats have all been removed and replugged to no avail.

Well I had the same problem although after 2 mins the light would then go out ok.
Well today I took it into MB and they charged me £55 to plug Star Diag in - guess what they found.....NOTHING. So all they did was wipe the memory and if teh light comes on again in a month theyll give me a FREE diag.
I feel abit peeved to pay £55 for something that wasnt even a fault - I mean why shoudl I pay for MB computer bugs - the light came on so there should be a fault - else the light should stay off - but oh no - MB great setup means that the light will come on - and ill pay for a diag when all along there wasnt a problem! Crazy.
just out of curiosty, have you spilled any liquid in your car from your cup holder? some say that they had problems with their SRS light and it turned out to be a bad seat belt buckle - inside the buckle is a switch of some sorts and the plug that you reseated is connected to that, dealer supposedly changed it and it fixed their issue. with the engine off - try clicking in the seat belts on all four seats couple of times - in out in out forcefully, then when all done, try starting you car and see if the light turns off.
secondly check the voltage of your battery while the car is running, it should not be below 10v if so, you could have a bad battery or a failing alternator, when the voltage is low, i heard that the ecu will turn off srs and asr, now i know that you didn't say that you are also getting asr light, but still worth a shot, it doesn't cost anything.
if you find a solution please let us all know. laters.
The seatbelt buckles themselves will be something I have to look into, that is one avenue I have yet to go down yet. Thanks for the response and pics, I appreciate that kind of info!
