Hey guys,
I used to float around here a bit. Wrapped my 00' C230Komp around a couple parked cars and a tree last December. Not a snow friendly auto!!!
Anyways, just came across a 98' C43 silver with 53,000. The car took in a good amount of water crusing through a floaded street is what I've been told. This happened two years ago. The same dealer who is selling it did the repairs back then. I was told the water caused two of the rods to become bent within the block. They were replaced in house at the dealer and the car has been ran for the last two years without probs. Not sure but the car most likely has a flood title. What else might this damage and what could come about with this happening???
I may be able to pick it up for $15,000. Any imput on what I may be getting myself into. Car is in amazing shape.....Thanks a million
Other option would be a 99' SLK230 Sport/AMG package w/46,800 at $17,000. Minter than Mint.

I have owned both - same years and models.
If it all checks out, go for the C43 - the hit-you-in-the-back V8 acceleration is really incredible to have at your finger tips. It was one of my favorite cars to drive. Stiffen up the suspension and you'll have a very sporty ride.
I alway felt cramped in the SLK.

For about $2K more, it might be possible for you to buy another similar car without flood damage. I would wait for a better deal if I were you. The dealer is not giving you such a great deal in my opinion. Plus, I guess I am just baised against buying damaged vehicles.

I would agree with Jon R. I would avoid any car with damage history. You will probably end up paying more at the end of the day.
I am selling a supercharged C43 with 55,000 miles. Car is in excellent condition, if you are interested, send me a PM and I will send you some pics and give you further detail.
