Cheap DIY for clear corner lenses
I put clear corners on my car a couple weeks ago as I really like that clean look.
When purchasing the clear lenses I came across those silver bulbs that light up orange. Cool idea until they checkout as $29.00 for a pair of $4.00 bulbs.
I installed the clear corners in the 5 seconds it requires and noticed that the orange bulbs stick out like a sore thumb(during day with lights off).
So walking through the auto store I picked up a can of silver engine paint which is heat resistant to well above light bulb temps.
Process:
1.Take two paper cups and make a small hole in the bottom of each to recieve the bulb similar to the socket.
2.Stand the cups upside down and twist the bulbs in so that they are standing up straight and all areas of the orange are in view.
3.From a distance of maybe 1.5-2 feet lightly dust the bulbs in a circular motion to cause even coverage. Don't "paint the bulbs" but rather subject them to some heavy overspray barely covering the orange apearance. If you lay down a thick spray just wipe them clean quickly and try again. I did this 3x before I had them covered perfectly.
4. Give them about 10 min to dry and then put them back in the car. Do a test to see how much light output is affected. Done.
You can't even tell I have bulbs behind my corner lenses. At night they are bright and no one could possible pick up the difference in light output. All for about $2.99 in engine paint.

Not to mention cheap sh-t on ebay like that is usually poor quality. Kinda like the clear corners they sell for $20-30.00. The good OEM corners are like $80.00 and you usually don't find them on ebay.
