I plan on having a chip done over the winter while my car is off of the road. I contacted Cory at Kleemann and I am most comfortable with their products and customer service. They are a bit cheaper than others as well.
From what I have been told through Cory is that you can expect roughly 12-18 hp. If you have 93 octane available he said you can have it tuned to that spec and then be on the upper range as far as HP goes. I think the engine characteristics like the "dead spot" in acceleration from a stop are what make the chip impressive.
Looking around for C43 mods is tough if you don't want to spend several grand. I was thinking a green filter, kleeman chip, and maybe something else small.

How much are we talking for a chip? Difficult to install? Any word on a group buy? What about long term ill effects for the engine/tranny? Any more questions?

I was told that you yank the ECU, overnight it, and if it's a slow day they(kleemann) may get it back out that same day. Put it back in and your good.

You might want to try : www.powergroupchip.com. They have 2 locations in Maryland :Maryland
Turbo Performance Center
Jessup
410 799 7223
www.turboperformance.com
Autoy Inc
Rockville
301 770-0700
autoy-autowerke.com
Now , I cannot confirm any performance data , reliability , I know a few forum memebers have used their product and seem satisfied.I figured that since they had a couple of locations in Maryland you could probaly go there and check them out first hand. I believe they offer some kind of discount for MB owners , you may want to inquire if you go.Let us kow how you make out.
