Aero III monoblock vs 5-spoke 170 wheels

Which one looks nicer on a C43/36?

AMG Aero III monoblock (95-97 C36, 98-99 C43) available in 17, 18 and 19 inches. Silver and Chrome

AMG 5-Spoke 170 (2000 C43) only in 17 inches. only in Silver

Planning on buying a 2000 C43 (already spoted one). Silver ext. All Stock, all options. It comes with 17 inches AMG 5-spoke 170 wheels.
I believe 18 inches silver monoblocks looks the best on a C43, however AMG 170 wheels are the one of the few parts that aparts a 2000 C43 to older ones (Avantgarde grill, the antenna, wheels).

I am between getting 18 inches monos and lowering the car and keeping the car all stock.

One more question about the lights. Is there a way for making the lights Bi-xenon. and is there xenon fog lights for C43s?

I personally think the 2 piece 5 spoke off the CLK430 is a nice rim.I am not sure if Xenon was available on the 00' ( I think it was since it was offered on the previous models). You can order the kit from the dealer or look for a aftermarket one.If it was me I would go with the OEM. What are they asking for the 00'?

the car already has the OEM xenon lights with washers and all. I want both low and high beams xenon. Mercedes only offered low beam xenons for 2000 year model. asking price is 27000 about 60k miles.

Wow , I guess whatever he wants he can get.Another member ( MBCLK60 ) just recently crashed his so there might be 19 left in the country.Man for that price you could find a 98' and drop a 5.5 in it.Good luck and post some pics if you get it.

actually you have both 2000 and 1998 C classes. 5 speed adaptive and automanuel. DO you think its worth paying $$$ different for automanual shift(difference between 99 and 00 C43)?

I have a 2000 C 280. I find the tranny very slow. It takes seconds to shift down or up. AMG claims faster shifts by 35 percent on new models. 2000 AMGs have this speedshift as well?

actually 24 left...I did a research on this. 25 was shipped to the US. 10 with starmarkt warrant. That black/black was one of them(MBCLK60). He wanted to sell that car to me, asked 29500. The location was far(Miami, FL) i live in MA. And it didnt have the original Xenons and rain sensing wipers.

I am aware of 1 Sliver with dark Blue/black 2 tone interrior. I guess that is the rarest and expensive to buy. Most of them (14) have 2 tone white/black interior. 7 silver 7 black.

there are 3 listed on Autotrader.com they have been there for months, asking prices 29000+. no options no warranty.

I never looked for 99 and 98s. how much are they? what range? below 20? low 20s?

most private market '43's are around 20.....some a little more (22-23ish) and some less (I've seen as low as 15-16 for higher mileage/worse condition). I picked mine up as a CPO w/ a bunch of warranty still left...car was at 55k miles in immaculate condition w/ all records since original purchase, and a bunch of recent maintenance (about 6k worth) under the CPO program. They also pretty much fixed anything that I said I wanted replaced after I bought the car (new winshield because of a hairline crack, new seat cushion, new climate control box). I ended up paying mid-20's but I walked out with a car that was as close to new as I could get, and it was exactly what I wanted. If nothing else, the condition of the car and the warranty/detailed maintenance history were probably the factors that helped me decide to get the C43 over the M3 I had been looking at, and to pay 4k more in the process..... :v

To answer the original question, I prefer the mono's to the 5-spokes for sure. But if you get the 2000 and you don't want the 5-spokes, I would personally get aftermarket (BBS, HRE, etc) instead of just getting replacement monos. Just my .02

I thought the 2000's on autotrader had all the options.... i figured that newer models most thigns came stock, the front panel looks like it has all the buttons, multi cont seats, rear folding seats were stock, what options were there in 2000?

pack 1 -xenon lights(only low beam) with washers. rainsensing windshiled wiper.
pack 2- 6 disc cd changer in the trunk, motorolla car phone.

none of them have pack 1. they both have aftermarket xenons with no washer and no rainsensing wiper.
