Tranny Problem

I know the question has been beatin to death but I would like to know if anybody else has experienced the same as me?

So when I step on the throttle the rpms go up a signifigant amount before shifting. Maybe from 2000 up till 5000 before it actually shifts. Is this a sign of a problem or just normal. I owned a c43 before the one I own now, and I had the same thing, but never thought of it as a problem.

Can someone further elaborate on the trans ECU re-map. My transmision has been runing good. However, I'd like to know about everything possible that goes along with this car.

the tranns learns how you drive. and shifts softer or harder. have some1 re-map it and it will re learn how you drive a shift better.

depends on how you drive the car. When it shifts at 5k are you romping on it? meaning are you having a little spirited sprint? Or does it shift at 5k when you drive around town and being quiet with your right foot? The tranny is auto adaptive like other have stated. Altho not as fast to adapt (takes a day or two)

On my old C43/55 the tranny would hold gear when I'm having fun in the twisties, or wanting a more spirited drive, but when I have errans to run or when my girlfriend drives the car it just puts along and shift normal around the 2k-3k range.

If your tranny goes up to the rev limit and bounces around there before it shifts is a bad sign. Also change out the tranny fluid every 25k-30k miles, and like others have said, re-map the tranny module if you have a 99 c43. The 99s tend to be programed more aggressively from factory and has been known or speculated to cause early tranny failures.

Thanks for all the info. My car is actually at the dealer now. How much do they charge for the re-map or will they do it for free?

Aslo, what kinda tranny fluid do you guys use?
