How many 2000 C43 AMG's?

I remember reading a thread a while back that there were only 24 2000's imported into the US. True?

I have one of them: a silver w/black and silver trim seats. 81k. Bought it with 56k. Restored anything and everything that I've found needed attention. The local dealer knows me by first name and loves to see me coming !$!$ Then realized it should spend more time in the garage then everday driving in wet, western Washington state! Havent found a safe (state police free) bet yet to take it above 130! Kinda like my insurance rates where they are!!

I'm a real fan now! Love the car, would never sell it. Would be great if someone out there knew where to find a replacement roof antenna that the rubber cover was knocked-off at the car wash (new= $520!), and a replacement rear bench seat cover. Mine looks like someone set a hot 'to-go' order on it in one spot.

Waiting for the snow and rain to recede for some springtime fun!

there were 25 cars. I know of 1 which was totaled about 2 years ago(black one) So you are right there must be 24 now lol

Mbusa didnt even listed them on their model list for my2000. There were 50 for UK market. Dont know how many for the rest of the europe and asia but probably more than 50 for germany. and some of those were C55s.

Great car. I wanted to get a 2000 C43 in the past. But too hard to find a nice one with low miles, there were a couple but they were too pricey. I gave up looking.

if you dont mind telling , when and where did you find the car? and how much you paid?

thanks

yes my bad, i meant 25, typed 20 by mistake
there's been at least 8 of them traveling through this forum over the years, either seeing them for sale, seeing them wrecked, or seeing them from other members. i saw one for sale at local dealer once, but at the time they were asking an arm and a leg.
a bordeaux red one does exist too which is insanely rare ;p

500E Signal Rot
I90 east of Northbend, but don't roll without the V1, probably the best place if you want to test your top speed limiter.

Thanks for the replies.

Found the car on autotrader in NC. I assumed the remainder of a lease on the car in June of 2005. The owner was desparate to unload it and kicked in $2k for me to take it over. Payments were $550/month, resid $16800. My company expensed it.

Back then it had 56k now 81k. Dont really drive it much since last October and the winter weather kicked in.

My daughter (16yr old @ the time) and I flew to NC to pick it up and drove it back to Seattle in three days. What a blast! Got to let it breathe thru WY and MT.... (130).

155 on I90 East?? WOW that's a heart attack for me if I even thought that the WSP were nearby! I'll post the latest unmarked Jeep Grand Cherokee that I spotted a few days ago!

I saw the post for the meet in Factoria next Sunday, If time and weather allows I'll tag along. sounds like fun.

Hi all,
Yes, I still own it. It's been in storage since April 2013. I hauled it up to Anchorage from Oregon

What a joy it was getting this loaded!
2 years ago because it wasn't being started anymore by a family member who promised otherwise. It's stored in a heated garage. Periodically started and driven a few miles by a friend while I'm working in Antarctica March-November So looking back 'twas foolish to trailer it up here because I'm only in AK now in the northern winter...

Has 105k on it. Keep fresh fluids in it and the fuel tank full. No ethanol in the fuel up here thank goodness Still starts right up and purrs like a kitten. Thinking I might take it back down to a friend's in Arizona where I can drive it now and then. I ocassoinaly consider selling it, but it would be very hard to part with... Anyone know how many 2000's are still around???

Snapped a couple photos last week on one of my visits, just before putting an Alaska plate on it. Too cold to open the door for a shot of the front. These will have to do for now...

At least its warm inside....

I was going to ask about the wheels as well. Any interior shots? A silver over black/blue interior MY00 is on my dream list. I think they only made 1 for the US in that combo.

I guess it doesn't have the Xenon option as there are no headlight wipers, which is rather unusual. BTW what happened to the windshield wiper as it's not parked at the bottom edge? Not unless you pulled the battery just at the wrong moment

You can recognize the 2k model by the roof antenna. 98 and 99 dont have that.
