New forum member with question?
Just picked up a 1998 c43 AMG for 10k today! Loving the car right now. Now it's time for dumb question of the day. Why does the horn honk every time I start the car? Is it related to the security system? Or does it just do that? Thanks for any responses in advance and look forward to learning a lot from this forum!

My C43 does not exhibit this behavior. I don't thik that is normal. Maybe another member can give you the scoop on that one.

yeah it's just a quick honk when you turn the key from Run to Start!

Actually that should be mandatory for some people. Like my 92 year old grandmother who still drives. An honk of the horn when the car is started (Look out world - I'm behind the wheel!) and then at random intervals from one to five minutes thereafter.
