A few miles with the sprint booster

After wasting a few days (and lots of gas) driving around with the Sprint Booster I'll have to say I'm impressed. What was a very fast, but kind of tame car has turned into a wild beast. After I got over the initial jump of going from a 2.3L turbo engine to a V8 the C43 just seemed lacking. It was still blazing fast when spun up, especially at 60+ under full throttle, but the around town performance seemed to not be crisp after warmup.

Not so anymore. The sprint booster makes 1/4 throttle pretty much the same as 3/4 or more. You have to really feather the gas now to avoid giving yourself whiplash. Another poster's comment of feeling like it added 100 hp isn't far off. Part throttle acceleration is waaaaay up. Of course gas mileage is down as well. Though now that the throttle is so touchy I actually drive slower so not to seem like I'm always burning rubber. Something that you can do with ease with one of these guys in.

All in all I'm very happy with it. Time will tell on how I like it in the future, but for now it rocks.

p.s. As a side note i'm wondering if some of our 0-60 problem is gear related. Not that mid to high fives is bad, but for how hard this car pulls in 3rd gear it should pull a mid to low 5. I've noticed that once the car shifts into 3rd gear around 60 something it turns into a rocket and just sucks you back into the seat. I'd like to have that in 2nd gear too.

This is definitely up on the top of my list for first things to do to this car. I find that the 1-2 shift takes forever. I'm wondering if the transmission control unit can be reprogrammed for quicker shifts. I look forward to seeing whether you still feel the same way in a month or two. I saw one person complaining that eventually the ECU compensated for the sprint booster and he was back to normal.

I can't really say with any cerntainty. Got about 260 out of the last tank with the sprint booster in. Got 220 the tank before with the bad 02 sensor. I'll let you know after the next tank. Lack of trip computer means I actually have to calculate things out now.

kalicocat - You can use the search function and find a million sprint booster threads. It adds no power, but makes your car shift lots harder and quicker. Best $200-300 i've spent so far.

260 miles is for all in town driving with no highway. I figure that isn't too bad considering old plugs and a lead foot.
