MB C43 Euro Springs Installed - pictures

Thanks to Jhuang with his post dated 03-05-2003, and to Maximus with his 2007 posts for providing the information on the MB "C43 Euro-spec springs". I installed those springs on my car last week, and I'm extremely happy with the results. As these guys have previously described, the ride quality is essentially unchanged from the stock, US-spec, springs. The drop measures 1 3/8" front and 3/4" rear, measured at the center of the wheel lip. I used # 1 spring pads on the front - which are 4mm thinner than the stock #2 pads. The change in appearance is dramatic - it looks like a 3" drop - and it's stance is like the current Sport Package and AMG cars.

Here's the MB part numbers on springs and pads. You can get them at your local dealer, but I bought the springs from Carnewal in Belgium because I wanted to be absolutely sure I got the right parts. Others on the forum reported good service from him, and I also got great service. I can confirm that these are the right part numbers for the Euro-spec C43.

Front Springs: 210.321.22.04
Rear Springs: 210.324.34.04
Front #1 Pads 210.321.01.84

Wow, the pictures really lose a lot of resolution when attached - it looks like my rims have chunks missing from them - but they don't have a nick. Sorry you can't really see the results very well.

c43 euro spec springs

i emailed carnewal for a quote. they told me 340 euros shipped.
are these springs really worth twice as much as h&r's or eibach's or any other aftermarket spring. seem's a little high. any comments?

A part number search on the Duval Motors website yeilds $50.70 each for the fronts and $66.30 each for the rears. The prices on the website are fairly accurate, but if there is a new price they will ask you to confirm before processing the order.

c43 euro spec springs

just spoke to the parts desk @ duval motors. the part #'s you listed are for stock springs for u.s spec cars. they are not the euro version. i'd like to get the euro version but don't want to pay $700. anyone have a source which cost less?

I can confirm that these are the right part numbers for the Euro-spec C43.

Front Springs: 210.321.22.04
Rear Springs: 210.324.34.04
Front #1 Pads 210.321.01.84
I guess John-in-Dallas will have to tell us where he got the part numbers. If they came off the springs, Duval may have it wrong.

my understanding is that there is, in fact, no such thing as a euro version spring per se, but instead the euro C43 uses the 210 spring to achieve the lowered stance.

MidasMike,

I also checked with the MB dealer parts guy before I bought the springs. He told me that the part numbers were listed for the CLK55 (208), the E55 (210), and other e-class cars. Since I couldn't be absolutely sure that they were the same springs for the Euro C43 that others had gotten through Carnewal, I went the Carnewal route - and paid 340 Euros. I can now confirm that the parts that I received from Carnewal have the same part numbers as shown in my first post. There are some older threads on this forum that discuss this issue of MB using the same springs on various cars to achieve desired results. Carnewal told me that he sources the springs "from his MB guy" based on "Euro C43 application" rather than by specifying the part numbers. Carnewal appears to primarily be a Porsche tuner, so it's interesting that someone found him for this application in the first place.

The price that I was quoted from the dealer was $385 plus tax, so yes, Carnewal was a bit more, but the service was excellent, and I'm happy with the results, so in the long run I'm happy to give him the business.

The reason that the MB springs were important to me versus H&R, Eibach, or other alternatives was that I didn't want the ride quality to change from stock. I believe the MB springs are also a bit less aggressive drop, and I like the idea of sticking with MB parts on my car. To each his own......

yeah, john. i was thinking pounds by mistake.
i understand now about several models using the same spring. the dealer i spoke with this a.m. didn't know about the different applications so i think i'll go the same route and use carnewal as well.
hard to get knowledge help at any u.s dealer. thanks very much for your help. michael

You are 100% correct and I don't know why folks keep spending so much money on these springs! They are regular MB springs from another MB as been posted. That guy in Belgium is striking it rich. To reconfirm I will be going to MB tomorrow to pick up some parts, then I'll give my parts guy the same exact part # that's posted here. I will also ask Mbenzman.

So let me get this straight.. If I search for w210 e55 springs then I will have achieved the "euro amg" equivalent for my c43 and gain a small drop without messing with aftermarket camber mods and such?

That's what it seems. I personally don't know why anyone would do this though... his pictures look like it's barely lowered, and I'm not sure why I'd want to stick with the stock feel. Sure if the last thing you want is the rougher city ride aftermarket springs give then do it, but for any real track or curvy driving these cars roll like a boat. I LOVE the vogtlands on my C36. Going between the two cars was like day and night. Plus I wouldn't see why anyone would spend $200 more for the MB parts.

I also didn't put any camber adjusting equipment on my C36. I have had the setup for almost a year and I'm still on the same tires, which is actually almost the longest I've been able to keep tires for that car. Barely any extra wear on the inside edge. If it was getting bad I'd probably just rotate the tires.

If you want some OE C43 Euro springs, I have a full set front and back. Just install them with n° 1 pads (1 nib) and you have the European look

The Euro spec 43 springs are shorter and give a lower stance. Combined with n° 1 pads (thinnest) under the top of the spring, you get the right height combination.
MB offers different pad thickness to compensate for the different weight combinations (engine sizes, equipment installed, etc.) of a w202 vehicle. If you search around on here, you will find ALL the different pad sizes for front and rear with MB parts identification #
If you want my springs, send me a private mail and we can talk
