yea the aux fans are not working and the mech says that it sounds like the head gasket, but the funny thing is the engines been worked on before and the gasket has blown 3 times i just dont know y it blew again,it was bought from a dealer so i didnt know who the previous owner was,wen i did the motor, the head was tested and it was fine, sumtn keeps making the head blow or its just a weak head? I have not even run it in yet,its only done 900kms

Silver 1996 C36
Blown the head gasket three times? Something very wrong with this picture. The C36 is a high compression engine at about 10.5 to 1. Perhaps someone has shaved too much meat off the head, and the compression ratio is now too high? Or perhaps there is some hidden crack in the head? Or maybe something preventing the correct torque value being applied to the cylinder head bolts, or compression force between the head and engine block?

If the engine is not cooling properly, it can cause the head to warp. This will cause a blown headgasket and burnt coolant.

I think we found the problem,my mech stripped the oil cooler because he thought that there was sumtn not right about this car.Turn out that there is a spring in the oil cooler housing that was not there, this spring causes the engine to build up pressure in the housing and then release the oil into the rest of the engine, this could explain the 3 blown head gaskets and the oil filter always being dry.when we put the car back together the car was not idling properly,it kept hunting from 650rpm to 1500rpm,so we strtd fiddling with the cords and came accross a vacuum plug, which slowed it down but did not stop it from idling funny?

you can get the "Cool Harness" this...

It helps the aux fans kick in at lower temps instead of 100-107 (which honestly its a bit high).
