Stock Wheels or Aftermarket? Winter tires?

My '99 C43 has the 18" AMG Monoblocks that are staggered 8.5 and 9.5. I am looking at some Lowenharts that are 18"x 8.5" all around. Will there be a noticeable difference with a narrower tire in the rear? Also, it is about the get into the wet and snow/ice season here on the Eastcoast and I am thinking about getting some winter tires. Do others switch out their tires and if so, what are some solid options that will not break the bank. Thanks

Well...hate to break the news but your wheels aren't stock. 17" Monoblocks are stock you probably have the ones from the W210 E55 like myself. I would stay with a staggered setup if I was you, keep the back tires bigger than the front. I stick with all season tires, my choice is Pirelli P-Zero nero's and in bad weather I just take it easy in "W" mode. (Starts in second Gear) I love the look of the 18" monoblocks on the car and I wouldn't do any other wheels except if I found a good deal on a pair of RENNtech monolights. That's just my personal preference.

I meant they they are original Mercedes. Thanks for the rec, I don't see many C43's with aftermarket wheels and I guess there is a reason for that.

I had a set of 18x9 and 18x10 lorinsers rsk5 on my c43 for a while. I love the look. No I have a set of 19" brabus on them. The lorinsers are for sale if your interested.
