naaah, If they did their 'due diligence' they would have been driving your car now.
I sold my convertible to someone from Calgary and it was a very easy
process for the new owner to bring it up there.

Figures. It's unbelievable the stories I get. It's such a beautiful car, and immaculate. Someone's really going to get a great car.

The sad part is...it's VERY hard to import a benz from usa to canada, and for stupid reason that is !..
that's why i bought mine local. and paid more
Why you selling the baby exactly, got a new project on the way?

Have a few financial things that came up that I have to take care of. From the money I get from the car I'll be fine. After that I'll do a little saving and probably be back to owning another AMG.

into Canada. I'll charge you the difference between a locally sold car (of the same make)
and the one sold in the US or $3600 whichever is higher

what was the reason they gave you it was excluded?
did they deny you verbally or in writing?
MB is putting up artificial barriers including excluding certain cars from import in order to restrict imports, thereby protecting their dealer networks. And the difference between the prices here in Canada and US is substantial in a lot of models.

Ohlord, Good link you found, though MB doesn't provide this to RIV (not listed on www.RIV.CA).
I agree, total racket. For example, I dont know how 1993-95 models aren't allowed in. I guess because they say so. And all the modifications have to be done by them. And they decide what needs to be done. Total racket.
It is only a matter of time before MB Canada faces a class action lawsuit under NAFTA for putting up these artificial barriers to trade.

I have to disagree on that. I think you risk your sale with a modified vehicle rather than stock. But again, there are a lot factors....
