To be honest, I would have given you $11K for the car

Guys - Thank you for all the feedback. I must say it is a pretty interesting discussion. If all I can get for this car is 10k-12k then I might just end up keeping it. It is absolutely well taken care car.

We shall see...

and drive the ol girl till the wheels fall off
Where else are you going to get such a beautiful machine for that kind of money?

saw your car posted on craigslist. 14,500 - good luck but think that may be a bit steep, but hope you get something close.

I paid 12.5K for mine about a year and a half ago. It was near mint inside and out with the only problem being a bad tail light bulb. Thought it was a good deal as the book was about 14K. That was a while ago.

I'd vote for keeping the car. Not many out there like it. To those guys who think you can still get 20K, good luck. I've seen 40K mile E55s for about 22K and you can pick up an W210 E55 for high teens low to mid 20s. Why would you pay 20K for a C43 when for a few K more you get an E55? And now the C32s are getting to high teens to mid 20s.

Some do NOT want the E class or bigger car. So for them the C is perfect. If I had to picj between the same milage car and same cost I would probably still go for the C43, thats right! UNLESS you mean a 2005 E55,people never seem to mention what YEAR they are comparing.

You can get over KBB & NADA Value on these cars IF its maintained right and properly cared for and you have FULL documentation of EVERYTHING. This seems like one of those cars although I will be 100% honest. You could probably get alot more with SILVER 18" monos vs. black. black looks too ghetto for someone who wants a pristine C43 in mint OEM condition. Go back to silver and you will get top dollar.

Hope that helps.

Doc......I just posted on a 96 C36 AMG for sale. My first post on this forum. Have no idea what it's worth. This group seems very tuned in to real world market values. My best friend's car. He died two years ago. Son has the car and wants to sell. I'm buying another one 91 300CE that he had. The 96 is silver with black leather and 1,700 miles. Comments anyone?

you can get top dollar fir the c36 if it really has 1700 miles. don't be in a hurry, just keep posting on forums and other selling outfits.... a "true" enthusiast will be willing to pay you a good amount of $$$ for this.

Guys - First of all, thank you again for the kind compliments. Just wanted to update everyone. I've received quite a few offers, however, not to my liking (price wise). I love these cars and they're NOT getting the "real" recognition in the marketplace which is unfortunate.

Having said that, I've decided to keep her. I know the history and the real value of my whitey .

Thanks again.
