car idling rough????
hey guys i got in the car today to go to work and didn't really let my car warm up for more than 2 min... as i was driving i noticed that the car was idling rough and was a little lazy when i was pressing on the gas paddle. sometime it seemed like it was misfiring....than when i got of from work i let it warm up and was driving fine although i never went over 2500Rpm's....has anybody ever had this problem....i think it needs tune up i talked to my buddy he went to UTI and he said it could be the sparks or coils....any advice would be appreciated..thank you

before you do that... run a full can of "Seafoam" in a half tank of gas and run the hard for that half tank, then run premium gas in the following tank, that will clean out your entire fuel system. normally rough idle & poor throttle responce can be fuel related. If its not tha then your plugs could be bad, but clean out hte entire fuel system.
Sea foam can be found at autozone/pepboys/etc

tasho,
that crap they sell at gas station is PURE gimic, don't waste your money. Seafoam is the only legitimate true fuel system cleaner, the rest are as hoky and fake as over the shelf "octane boosters". Seafoam is the real deal.
if that still doesn't help then it could be time to replace your spark plugs, get some Bosche super coppers.

Not knocking you Dr36 BTW - I'm just not buying into the Seafoam theory...Anyone else use that Seafoam?

I have and also a big fan. Just wish it was $3.00 cheaper. I would love to add it 1/2 of the foam at each fill up. I also used it a day before an oil change. It cleans out the engine the day before and the oil did come out more black than when I checked the oil through the dipstick.

I can only offer the truth, nothing more nothing less
Put a full can of seafoam in the gas tank with the tank half full... run the car hard for the whole full tank and it will clear out everything.

Seafoam is so powerful you only need to use it once per oil change so roughly 4x a year, its very powerful stuff and it clears everything out, so you only need it every 3 months.
As far as the oil, only use seafoam in the engine oil as a flush, if you are changing your oil, run the seafoam in your oil for about 24-48 hours then do an oil change. Don't put seafoam in your oil if you plan on keeping that oil in there, its a cleaning agent not a lubricant.

Break out the peace pipe baby....it's chillin' time
Whoa...whoa..whoa there 'Mav' aka Dr36, the whole reason I posted was to get others testimonial on the seafoam, not to knock you....If I'm hearing from twenty other people which I know fairly well from the forum, this stuff is the 'teats on the bull' that's one thing. However, there are a zillion additives out there that do nothing but line others' pockets with the greenies and possibly harm my very, very expensive automobile...So don't get to feelin' dejected, I don't lurk over on the Bimmer forum ('cept from time to time) so I can't offer what they state over there about this product.
I've contemplated using it for my vehicle simply because when I open the oil refill cap, the innards seemed overly varnished up, and that is just what I CAN see...again Dr36, here's an olive branch and don't take my posting personally. I do nothing on this forum but help many, many others...

no worries, has nothing to do with personality or dejected, just saying i've dried almost every additive out there and most of them are pure crap, so learn from my mistakes and only use the good stuff. You can use seafoam in the oil as a cleaning agent but only 2 days before an oil change. It will get rid of any sludge/varnish and whatever else may be in there.
don't takes things personal, just dropping knowledge on you thats all.
