'98 C43 AMG. Obsidian Blk w/2 tone slvr/blk interior
haha... i bought my 98 c43 two weeks ago and when i picked it up it said 76993 too!! thats funny... whats not is that ive put 1400 miles on it already and the tranny blew out last week it was 3k to replace.....

a word of advice - GET FRESH TRANNY FLUID, i dont care how much it costs just do it its very important. the people at mercedes claimed for several years that these trannies had lifetime fluid within them. claiming that synthetic fluid doesnt break down. anyway, after people started coming in with 60k miles and a broken tranny, they changed their claim, stating that a one-time change is required at 39,000 miles... well thats still crap i think it should be done at least every 20k miles.

you see when the clutchpads wear from intial use, the carbon theyre made of gets suspended in the transmission fluid... then it starts becoming problematic accelerating the effects of wear and tear until a pre-mature breakage of the transmission occurs.

ill be changing my atf and filter every 10k miles to keep my tranny healthy.

enjoy your new ride the white looks really good with that two tone interior...

1999 C43
beautiful ride.
It looks like your star came off of the engine cover too. If you want to replace it, let me know or go to this thread(https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c43-amg-w202/231655-cheap-star-engine-cover.html), some people did replace it with amg badge I believe. We will see.

Good luck with your car

...........I think that is a good idea. Thanks for your input. The car seems to be in good shape though.
