Rear Wheel Spacers

I want to add 1/2 inch or little less spacers to my rear tires. Is this safe to do? I just want to get the rims to stick out a tad to make the rear look a bit more "muscular". The tires are nice and wide but they stick in to much and so its hard to see that they are wide and tough looking. M3's for example (at least the one I saw the other day) had about the same widght of tires but they clearly stuck out a little passed the metal of the wheel whell (sorry for all the miss spellings). And that is the look I want to get, just want the tires to stick out a little.

I have the stock amg wheels btw, so any suggestions would be great. Right now do not have the cash for new/wider rims.

Thanks for the reply but a fair warning would have been nice stating WHERE it would rub. I dont see where it would. If you mean on the top edge of the wheel well on my car theres enough height to clear once the tires stick out a LITTLE.

It all depends on the tire size your running. If your running a slight stretch you will not rub. I ran a 18x10" rim ET44 in the rear of my c43. I used a 15mm spacer and it brought the rim all the way to the fender lip. I was running a 245 and it did not rub. I have a set of 15mm spacers that I may sell. Let me know if your interested. Thanks. You may need to run a longer lug to make up the difference of 15mm. The spacers I have are hubcentric. If you plan on doing this, make sure you get hubcentric spacers. Good luck.
