thanks guys- yeah, did them myself. It's the "real" fake stuff took about 2 hrs so far including taking things apart etc.

i got it from a vendor on the bf.c "north american motorsports"- it's a very thin woven sheet with an adhesive back. It does look very real in person as well as in pictures.

Looks good - genuine imitation! Where'd you get by the way, the stuff on the 'bay' is only about an inch or two wide...

do they have the "real" fake stuff on ebay? i haven't seen this stuff on there that i know of anyways.

I got two extra large sheets- you don't need that much of it though just to do the trim.

Silence, did you get/leave any bubbles on the door ones? One of them looks like it but could be just the light.

Looks real good. I did all my wood like that but got tired of it and painted everything silver. The silver made the whole inside stand out so nice and bright.

no bubbles- this stuff would be very hard to leave a bubble iwth as it's pretty thick and not that pliable.

Wow, I wouldn't have known that your cf is fake! It looks very real. My friend had real cf put in his W210 and looks very similar to yours.

Please keep us posted on the HVAC relocation and the double DIN installation. If you could take some pics along the way (not just a before and after) that would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a C36 and want to put in a double DIN nav unit. I've searched for a DIY, but no real luck. Just a lot of before and after pictures with no details on how to get from before to after.

Cheers,

FLi

I checked out the other thread with the pic of your double DIN installed. Looks good!

If you could post some pics of the dash piece removed and how it was done, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks.
