When I was shopping for a c36, I drove one that had a H&R/Bils Sport combo and it rode the twisties very nice.

When he first pulled up I was surprised how low the car was...like barely a pinky clearance for the F&R, but after a few minutes of driving it felt great.

Body roll was minimal compared to stock height. Razor turn ins were what sold me.

I'm hoping to get Lensolo's Camber kit soon before I install my kit.

My Audi S4 pals say the same thing about the Eibach's. Good for a DD, but only a tad firmer than the OEM springs.

I am switching to H&R Sport springs and the tallest spring pads that the factory makes. I measured mine and my car has the shortest pads in there front and rear.

I am also contemplating dumping the Bilstein sports and going to adjustable Koni's front and rear.

Does anyone have the factory C36 springs still hanging around? I may give those a try since I am going to be buying the spring compressor tool anyway.

I called H&R two days ago and spoke to them. They said that the H&R sports are progressive on the C36.

I will note, on some cars the bilstein sports & eibach springs aren't the best combo due just not meshing well together, but on others its a good combo. If you have documentation proving otherwise please provide it.

On the E36 M3s for example, the combo 90% run who use bilstein sports is H&R springs b/c the eibachs would give the car odd quirks at times (sometimes feeling floaty at the limit & etc) so people opted for bilsteins. If they ran eibachs they'd usually run koni. But thats really only an issue on that specific model, on others people seem to run them fine.

I'll be politically correct and say that these trannies are not bullet proof unless you give them constant fluid chgs.

By the way the 5 speed tranny in the C43 is rumored to be the same tranny in the SL 600.
Can you give us more details about the 5-speed tranny from a M113 with a 1997 W210 E320 bell housing ?

How did he integrate the electronics of that 5-speed ?

Do you have a link or contract info ?

Thanks,
:-) neil

Don't do it. You don't have enough money for the repairs.

First, they run hot, temp wise, all the time. Second, nose heavy so handling isn't so great. Third, front brakes & rotors are so expensive you really will be shocked. Fourth, the heat generated by the engine and front brakes will ruin the finish on the AMG wheels, causing cracking in the finish (and that was with normal driving, so mine have been refinished 3 times).

Then there is just all the other stuff that occurs with a C36 that track driving will reveal - bushings will fail and are expensive to replace, etc.

Good luck though.
