yeah theyre illegal here in GA too but my mechanic still sells/installs 'em. he said that when you get pulled over and should they question the "jamming" you just say that you had a IR garage door opener installed and you accidentally hit the button. i think he installs it with a switch so you can turn off the jammer so the cop cant recreate the effect. hope it helps.

It’s akin to any insurance; you’ll only need it when the fit hits the shan.

The only time I’ve been nabbed in the last decade was piloting the GMC…sans V1.

I just re-read the original post and saw in the title that you're looking for thge best radar detector UNDER $100, while I suggested the Valentine as being the best, it is NOT under $100. Expect to pay over $400 for one and although it's more than you want to spend, it is truly worth the money.

look

i got tagged going 112 in a 55 here in atlanta, I-20 about 4 miles outside of downtown ATL. luckily my lawyer is the **** and he got my speeding AND reckless charges dropped, and my fine was reduced to 300 bucks! he plays golf with the judge, the solicitor was moving to revoke my license and pop me with a 1000 dollar fine.

my insurance company would have definitely dropped me if they knew how fast i was going. i get a low rate because im under the radar, i pay 830 per 6 months for full coverage plus 500 deductible. would like to keep it that way until it goes down again in december, when i turn 25...

lawyer was 1500.

coulda purchased a round of valentine 1's for everyone on this thread for 1800 bucks.

With radar detectors, you get what you pay for so you would just be tossing your money out the window if you get a $100 detector.

its an e z diy, just find a wire that switches on w/ the key. you dont even really need to see the screen, cause for the different radars there are different sounds. you'll end up looking only when ka goes off and K gets crazy on photos

Do get the V1 it is truly the best detector out there, you need to mount it in the middle top of your car, because there are two sensors on the V1 one big one in the front and one small one on the front right side, both those need to be able to pick up the radar, so what I do is mount it behind my mirror and just slightly off to the right side so that it can still pick up radar from behind, you wont be able to see it at all (and the police wont be able to see it) so you will also need to buy a concealed display for about $60, that comes with all wiring needed. I have my concealed display down where the cigarette lighter is.
