Aftermarket Keyless Entry vs. Stock

Alrighty guys. My entire Keyless entry(infared) was ripped out before i bought the car because it stopped working, the guy and his friend were going to install aftermarket. and then he decided to sell the car and just leave it as is. (no its not stolen)
SO i was wondering. Too much of a hassle and cost to install a aftermarket without my 97 w202's codes going crazy.
Im interested in the viper remote entry with the remote engine start and all that(is it even possible?)

Will it be cheaper for me to just buy a WHOLE NEW INFARED SYSTEM
i doubt it knowning mbz parts.

SO how would i go about getting aftermarket installed if the Dealer ahs all the codes and whatnot

My opinion - I would stick with the o.e.m.I can't understand why you would want a remote engine start.....Isn't putting the key in and hearing the motor come to life one of the pleasures of owning these cars?

that is very true C43, i love how mine sounds!! lol anywho, adam, i wouldn't try to install an aftermarket, it will not work anyway, the central locking system is tied down throughout the car, so yea....damn dude didn't he state that to you before you bought thecar?
