guys are the H&R springs stiffer than the stock, or they just drop height, i am looking for stiff springs for my 36 AMG, and i really dont't know what to go for. and which of the 2 sag, was it H&R or Eibach??? which will offer stiffer ride? i dont need that much of a drop.

Im also interested, moreso in the Eibachs. I've got a set in the garage for the summer but am hesitant to go through putting them in before I hear a bit of input on drop, ride quality, stiffness ect. I'll try to dig up some info on them Jay.

i've got some H&R's and billy sports that are going on my C36 this weekend. i'll let you guys know how things go and how they feel....
FWIW, i have nothing but good experiences with H&R's on a lot of other cars i have owned, which is why i went that route with the 36......it was basically between the 3 that we are talking about now; H&R, Eibach and Vogtland.

Need to ask for a favor:
Any of you with a set of H&R for the 36; would u be kind enough to measure the coil thickness for the fronts and rears plz.
Any of you with a set of H&R for the 43; would u be kind enough to do same as above.
Ben, can you do same with the Eibach set u have at home

hey, just following up on why experience installing my H&R's this weekend. first of all, i got the exact look i was going for. slight rake and not too too slammed. the one thing i was surprised about was how bouncy the ride was right after the install. i know that it takes time for everyhting to settle and for the springs and shocks to get a little "broken in", but the rear of the car seemd overly bouncy. not bouncy like i was on cut springs and crappy shocks, just bouncy due to the stiffness of the new parts. anyone have any idea as far as how long the "break-in" period is or how long it takes for for the car to fully settle? i will post some pics when i get a chance to take some good ones (currently pouring rain here in the beautiful pacific northwest)

Not a problem Jay, I'm just not sure what you mean by coil thickness. Should I just take a caliper measurement to one of the coils, or do you mean the diameter of the whole coil itself? Cant wait till my new tires come in and I get the eibachs in, I'll be ballin for the summer .
thats exactly it, measure one of the coils with a caliper. My AMG36 and prolly urs too has a 15mm coil thickness on the fronts. The 43 has a 16mm one. I know its not the only factor in calculating the spring stiffness but since all are very close in design it should give an idea.
The extra 1mm of the 43 over those of the 36 have a gr8 effect making the 43 a really flat car in the turns.

yeah man, the H&R's i got are just too stiff. i think i am either going to go with the vogtland's or the eibachs, depending on prices and drops. i love the look with the H&Rs that are on there right now, but it rides like sh-t.....especially in the rear.
any experiences comparing vogtland and eibach springs specifically would be killer.

I just installed the Bilstien Sports on my C36 with the stock springs. The car handles very well compared to my SCCA 924S. I would like to change the springs and get just 1/2" Lower. The roads suck here so cant go too low. any suggestion? I should have looked at the spring pads when I was changing the shocks!

Guys can any confirm if the H&R sport kit offered for the 43 are stiffer than those offered for the 36 1995.
I was on the phone with H&R and the refused to disclose any info regarding stiffness.
They just said the sport kit will be slightly stiffer than stock. That being said, i know that the 43 is stiffer from factory than the 36 so can we assume that same will be true for the H&R, ie: 43 kit stiffer than 36 kit?
