Well mine has 63,000 miles all stock except for euro clear corners and s600 grille and I wouldn't sell mine for less than 16,000. If the car has been serviced properly and regularly I think that is a good deal. It is a lot of car for 6g's, think about what it sold for originally.

In the states it sold for around $52,000 up here in Canada it was like $69,000. It is a bored and stroked 2.8 bringing it up to 3.6. It has 600 series brakes, body kit, remapped ecu and a more aggressive cam. It also has an upgraded exhaust and some interior enhancements. I love my amg and I also like that I don't see one on every street corner.

How about the transmission?
So Boaring my engine out to 3.6 or better (makes sence i gotta friend who does this ****) installing the cam I already have the remus exhaust .

the 97 Sport came with beefier everything as a pkg is this pkg the 600 series brakes ( i think they are-tell me if i'm wrong)...

Only makes sence to do this for this car is truly mint and in unimanagable condition...
and for the cost of parts is so low right now it would just require motor mounts lift...

please feedme back

Only the 1995 model received the 600 brakes. The 1996-97 models have the "standard" C280 brakes.

C280 Brakes are similar but not quite the same brake as the c36 I thought Mine came with upgraded brakes I looked at the ademdem that came with the car from the dealership Crown Eurocars Tampa Bay and they in fact dont come with the brakes which i thought.

The Pkg which I was refering came with c6 sport pkg which includes sport shocks, sport Trim, Leather , sport wheels (rims n tires) adjustable steering collumn. Thought it came with the good brakes...

only difference between a c280 sport and c36 is boaring period unless my research is incorrect and Im just plain stupit
I don't understand why they'd make a sport version of the C36. Are you sure they did?

errr no

1996 and 1997 had E420 brakes. They might have shrunk every year but then never went belpw E420 brakes. All and fixed style calipers not the sliders seen on the C280 cars. Not even close in stopping power.

The C36 is a very different car from the C280 Sport. The shocks, springs, sway bars are all different. It is a much stiffer, more focused car, much better for track days. The seats are much more agressive. The AMG cars are much superior to the regular cars from an enthusiasts point of view.

My son has a 1999 C43, the successor to the C36. I have a 1995 C280 and a 2000 C280 Sport. The differences are striking going between the trree cars.

I paid $8500 for mine two years ago when it had 87,xxx miles. I love my 96 C36, if the car has no rust or chips in the paint, good interior and the engine and tranny check out $6000 is an awesome deal. This was a limited production vehicle and is only going to increase in value in the coming years if you keep it in good condition. I would easily go pay $6000 for my AMG today. Just my 2 cents

The price I pay for a car is entirely based on the condition. Condition can be a concours condition sow car or a wreck, so the values can vary drastically. It is very difficult to offer price advice without a thorough inspection.

sorry, but mine has the stupid ate sliding calipers. emailed amg and they said that's what my vin provides. on the other hand, if i asked the dealer for a 96 c36 (without my vin) brake stuff, their computer shows fixed calipers. i feel cheated.

my old thread, specs c36/c43. obviously, some things are a little different as i have learned. yes, springs are lower/shorter than c280, but the spring pads can make a big difference. mine came with the thickest pad so it looks like an suv. as well as the afore mentioned ate sliding calipers instead of the sl600 4-pot that i have seen on a 95.

what i would do his buy a C36 engine and drop it into your current C, you'll have a lighter car and a bigger engine.
