Parting '99 C43- 117k complete w. no tranny
Any interest in this?
I may be picking this car up in the near future here and trying to deal with parting it or selling complete.
Curious if anyone has part needs they would like "dibs" on or that kind of thing.
This is basically a feeler to help me decide if it is worthwhile to do this.
I don't know the condition of the brakes or if it is 2-tone interior.

thanks

waiting to hear back after I sent a few questions
my prices will likely be very fair- If I do this I will want to get the car dismantled and ot of here in a timely manner. Ideally, I'd like to find a buyer for the parted chassis with the wiring and motor still in it.
There is also some possibility that I will just throw a transmission in the car and list it for sale for 6-7k. Anyone got a lead on one?

I think I may actually be looking at the same car as you, although the one here in Eden Prarie is a 1998, not a 1999.
seats are black, not 2-tone, interiors in good shape but the body needs a little work.

yes, you are correct.
I was wrong- where did you find it listed? Owner contacted me directly. I'd be curious to try to glean any extra info from a listing.

oh, I cant remember -- I look all day on all different sites.
I called him yesterday about it and got the extra info --
still trying to find what other cars use that specific 4-speed 722.4 trans with the M113 E43 bellhousing, cause if I buy it, I'm re-building it and driving it

Please do so if you are interested/willing to take it that route- I would feel bad dismantling it.
However, I will have a much better idea of whether or not it's worth returning to driving condition after I take a look in person eh?

I think both of us will be looking at car tomorrow- I am only doing a visual.
We will know a lot more tomorrow night.
I am willing to part it out if the condition warrants doing so- for sure! We shall see after looking up close.

I got got a lot more info on the history of the car, I think it will be too nice to part out - but that being said, there are quite a few small door dings on the side.
yeah, we will know a lot more tonight

the car is actually living in Winona, so thats a bit of a trek I guess
I dont think the trans install will be too hard, but thank you for the offer (if you want a project I'm putting a M117 5.5L V8 into my 1976 240D in the cities, could always use another pair of hands or eyes on that project )
you don't need 2x C43s haha, contrary to my sig, I sold my 99' last year and I miss it.

not needing two explains why u got it- girlfriend (who owns 'our' home for what its worth) def. vetoed that idea. I was really only in this for a shot at quick turnaround profit. makes sense u would pay more if u wanted a car! any chance u will be at eurowerks tomorrow? show should be fun. I need to ghetto rig my brake booster a little, but should be able to make it

decent sized show tomorrow-
try eurowerks.org
it's a lot of VWs, but there will be some other interesting cars there. Last year a ton of the BMW guys made it out and obviously I was there. My car is not really show worthy right now, but I'm taking her anyways.
