Buying Advice for a C36
Hello hello, my first post:
I'm looking at buying a 1997 C36 AMG. It has 42k miles on it and according to the description it is 'mint condition'. No driving in winter, no accidents, no repairs.
The price is $15,400. First question, how are we on this price? High? Low? Or Just right?
The second discrepancy - they have no service book. And the services have been done by a "cousin who lives across the street" - they say an oil change has been done every 3000 miles. Is this suspect? Or a case of good old family values?
Finally I can't look at the car myself - but I will get a pre-purchase inspection. Is this un-wise?

where are you at? i live in jakarta and a mint condition (have been pre-inspected. 101k km) 1994 c36 is around USD25k.its crazy here since only a few cars shipped to the country.
i am considering to buy c36 as well and so jealous to see how much the car is in other part of the world...
can we do a bit of analysis here whether to buy or not buy this c36 at USD25k in my country..( arjuna, sorry for using ur thread on this matter)

1995 c180 A/T is around USD9k
1997 c230k A/T is around USD13k
1999 c280 A/T is around USD16k
I assume the condition of these cars are equally the same as C36 AMG mentioned above (as in owned by enthusiast and being taken cared more than wives, hehehe).
One more striking example of this country, the new C63 is USD180k
looking at the prices above, i would say that C36 AMG at USD25k is still not bad.. sud i buy it?
