96AMG 100k miles black/black
So can we safely say C36 was a complete/almost complete 280 delivered to AMG for conversion right?

If yes, it was a unique time or ALL AMG's are born this way?

well I'm happy to learn there is more to the chatter (sprocets used to overlap ex/intake valves) from this thread. discussions are always helpful right?

the heat gets to this car easily, when temps hit 90F+, and the car isn't moving fast, temp gauge creeps up to the 100C mark
That's 2k a year ..What's wrong with you bro?

Is not good wine!..I bet your temp spikes is related to too Little use, anyway as you know Used MB buyers are sick about MB maintenance log, something you don't have due to such low mileage, get in there, B4 some legislation put all of them to sleep or a squirrel eat the entire electrical or something, and make that old lady sweat until it became the Peach it was intended..(I can help)

nah, the temp spikes were there since we had it in 1996. first things i noticed were those noisy fans and the temp.

less than 2k a year . a few too many cars and good public transportion + lousy public parking.. now it's more like 500 a year, there was one year i put a good 6000 on it when my other cars were in the shop or something.

Thats fine, just make sure you take it on some good runs to move the engine a bit. And always change the fluids according to the time and NOT the mileage (in your case)

So MB confirmed that the single piston calipers is what the car left the factory with? Well at a minimum your C36 is even more rare. Just out of curiosity which dealer did you get the car from? I remember seeing a silver C36 in the showroom at Autobahn in Belmont back in 1996. There is a guy selling the front four pot setup from a 95 if you are so inclined to swap the brakes (I bought the exhaust from him for my C280).....but at 30K I assume you are looking to keep it all original...single pot brakes and all.

yeah, pretty much gave me the run around. they don't know what they're talking about . i was listening to the guy at sf benz, comparing c36 and c43.. he thinks he knows it all but got quite a few facts wrong, didn't bother to correct him. but whatever. ppl here are more knowledgeable anyway

i'll be keeping it stock, whatever is on the car (i already have a $ black-hole/mod-bug on another car). the setup i have is really really cheap to replace. rotors are only 60 bucks or so, even at the dealer (iirc lol). the rotors do seem to be 12+ tho, so at least they're not regular w202 brakes.

got the car from some dealer in the east coast, i think it was columbia motors (in massachussets?) or something. either they changed their name or closed down, can't seem to find them anymore.
