c36 died the other day
Posted this in another forum also. My C36 got killed other day. I got rear ended while sitting in heavy commute traffic. Looked in rear view mirror to see pickup truck coming at me and not slowing. I got pushed into vehicle in front and set off the airbags, along with damaging the front end as well as rear.
Damage: shattered windshield from airbags deploying, dash-from airbags deploying, fluid leak from under vehicle, driver seat back reclined a few degrees with impact, driver seatbelt would not retract, front bumper pushed in and cracked, hood and grill damaged, rear see pics.
Car had 86xxx miles. I'm pretty sure it'll be totalled. I've only owned since April.
I have to say that I sustained minimal injuries. I'm sure it had a little to do with the crash safety built into the vehicle. Took most of the impact saving me. A little soreness and muscle tightness next day. Got checked out by my doc, and everything is fine. Going back to work in the morning. Accident happened on the 28th.
Update: insurance called today with estimate to fix $16k+. It'll be signed over to them as a total loss.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm doing fine, and just went back to work. I also just agreed to the total loss payout by my insurance. I'm waiting to see what happens, and then I'll look for a replacement. I'll look at w202/203 amg models. But I'll also consider other makes. I've owned 1 Audi, 5 VW's, 3 BMW's, and this was my first Mercedes. It was probably the best made vehicle I've owned.

My friend owns a 2.7T A6. They pulled this engine and put it into a A4... which everyone knows is an S4. I'd look into a 2001.5 S4 if I were you. They require a lot of attention, probably more than our cars... but pulls hard!

Yeah the B5.5 or 2001.5 on S4 with the 2.7T is a possibility. I really like the B6 with the V8. Not into the looks of the B7 A4/S4 cars. Yeah I know about the turbo cars needs. My co-worker also had the A6 2.7T. I'm not ruling out another AMG car. Just looking at all the possibilities.
