Rear Spoilers & C36 Broken Car Purchase
Which Rear Spoilers are Factory Option on the C36?
I just bought a 95 C36 that is stuck in First Gear, no reverse. Towing it into the shop tomr to find out why. So I wanʻt to put a spoiler on it asap.

I'm confused... you're car is stuck in first gear, therefore you want to put a spoiler on it???

I got the car from a old man who kept the car very clean, but was terrible at maintaining the car. He only took the car into the stealership when it broke. never for regular maintenance! The car has 89k on it and I suspect the trans fluid has never been changed. He gave me a detailed folder of all repairs from day 1. Going over the records the car has never even a tune up, but he did change the engine oil, which is clean and was changed every 10k at Jiffy Lube! Arrrrrggghhhh!!! So I want to order a rear spoiler while I am figuring out whats wrong the trans. He did take it to the dealer and the dealer told him flat out to just rebuild the trans. From the work order they didnʻt do nothing but check the trans fluid level and a smell test. About to tow it to the shop in a few hours. As soon as I can put it on the rack I am going to change the trans fluid and check the trans filter and pray it is something else.

Me either because on the Jiffy Invoices it show standard oil used! I am almost afraid to put full synthetic for fear of all the seals leaking. Thats all I need is for the real seal to start leaking.

I suspect your shop is not too familliar with MB's, if reverse is out there is a potential that the cage that holds a couple of dozen small coil springs that keep the reverse clutches apart has blown up, which means there is no spring pressure. Also B3 piston are known to wear and hit the K1 drum. Just some things to consider, good luck though I hope a flush solves your problems. See if you can take some pics if you do have to open it up and post back with the solution.

If they used regular 10W-30 oil I would be more worried about severe engine wear, instead of some leaks (which probably won't happen anyways),, A 30 Weight oil does not have the strength to hold upto the massive heat created in an AMG engine, and can reduce the life of the engine by extensive wear, ESPECIALLY if it's not M-B approved oil.

The old man told me he drove the car slow. That would probably explain why they had to change the o2 sensors twice, once at 30k and again at 60k. He has no speeding tickets in the car! He said only when it was new he took it up to 70mph on the H3 Freeway which is a 60mph zone. I am still waiting for my tow truck to get it over here.........but customers come first.
Sorry to the purist about the spoiler thing, I think the car looks naked without it. I just want to put a color matched lip spoiler on the back. As far as mods I am going to leave the car alone. This is going to be my daily driver since my other cars eat too much gas (Prem is $3.50 per gal here!)

Got the trans out.....Reverse Gear Coupler was wasted.....rebuild tranny time! The trans fluid looked like MUD! I can't believe on the work order it says it was clean!

Too bad you can't go back to the dealer and *****! Customers rely on them to tell them what needs to be serviced.
Luckily I had to pull the trans because the real main seal was leaking.
Things to do:
Change Evaporator
Change Shocks
Inspect Suspension Bushings

amg offered a spoiler for the c36/c43. it's pretty ugly.
someone here showed a picture of a lip spoiler ala e39 m5. a bit more subtle so it wasn't so bad.
