What brands to stay away from?
There are several manufacturers on this planet!
Some are great others are bad!
To avoid bad experiance with lousy quality what brands should we stay away from when buying parts for our cars?
I was told to stay away from Deutsche Parts.
I always ask for well known brands with great rep when I buy parts for my car!
So you guys and gals do you have any infoe and experiance of bad brands, that we should stay away from!
This is not a thread of dissing any brands!
Just an information thread to stay away of certain brands that does not fit our AMG's!

Meyle has always been kinda hit or miss for me, I usually avoid them as well unless there is no other option. I see lately they have changed their name to "Meyle HD" to insinuate they are putting out higher quality parts now but I havent tried any yet.

Johnhef, following up on the Meyle bit. If you recall, I put in a Meyle fuel pump about a month ago to solve a start up issue, ie. it would spin, but sometimes would take a while to catch. At the time, you told me to avoid Meyle! Worked fine for a couple of weeks, but then the issue reappeared. Fortunately, the parts shop is a pretty good outfit, they brought me in a Pierburg. It has worked fine for about three weeks now (knock on wood).
Interestingly enough, the Pierburg pump was branded 'Ti Automotive' and 'Made in Poland'. It came in a Pierburg box though. The OE Pierburg I took off the car was branded 'Pierburg' and was 'Made in Germany'. Hoping, at any rate, that this pump will be fine.

Good to know! I wonder if anyone here has tried the Meyle HD brand yet to see if they are improved at all?
I recall I bought meyle engine mounts once for a W123 diesel I had- the new engine mounts compressed so much the engine sat lower then the old ones and let the belt come dangerously close to cutting though the oil cooler lines! no good!
