c36 engine/tranny number
can anyone tell me where to locate the number on a 1995 c36 engine? also wanted to find out where the number is on the 4speed tranny? thanks for any feedback

1995 C 36 AMG; 1992 W124 300E (M103 Ex Mosselman TT KIT) was 320hp @10psi now stock :(
i can help u find the engine number.
Its just under the exhaust manifold i think under the engine number you should find something close to the following "3.6 AMG" after that u should find 4 digit number engraved into the block.
As for the gear box i cant help man.

C36 AMG
Like Jay pointed out, the C36 specific engine number will be on the Passenger side part of the engine, below the exhaust manifolds engraved right on the block.
But don't get confused, there's another set of numbers like 104****** that will be above it, those are the original numbers from Benz, the ones you are looking for are from AMG and they are almost right above the oil pan, for instance mine is AMG36 4252. This verifies that your engine is indeed a true AMG36.
As for the tranny number? can't help you on that one either, hopefully someone does know how to find it.

trans will be stamped on the side of it just above where the pan bolts on, starts with 722...
