Vacuum pump in the trunk
Can someone post a pic of how the vacuum pump is mounted in their trunk. I popped my trunk today and it was hanging with the foam cover off and in the middle of my trunk. I know this piece is EXPENSIVE and I would like to have it mounted the way it should be to avoid damaging it.

yes and no..... There were definitely things they let fall by the wayside in terms of maintenance but as far as all the MAJOR stuff (engine, tranny, etc...) my car is solid. I don't leak oil, I still have the original tranny @ 110,000 miles and it shifts GREAT with no weird noises, and my engine is still bullet proof (all I had had to do besides regular maintenance is change the valve cover gasket). As far as small details you are correct, this person treated my C43 like it was some regular old car instead of the LOVING CARE I give it. You have to keep in mind I bought it @ a repo auction so whoever owned it before obviously wasn't worried about keeping the car. Something that baffles me is almost everything I have taken apart inside of the car has had sunflower seed shells in or around it and I mean EVERYWHERE. Now she's in good hands and I take GREAT CARE of her, nothing is too good for my C43. I have fixed almost every small detail but there are a couple left, soon she will be flawless!!

was your car a birds nest b4 you bough the car?
maybe you have some other problems with the car that you don't know about?
take it to a testcenter that goes through the complete car.
probably costly but definately worth it!

Had this done when I had the dealership service my tranny.... That's why I changed the MAF. Everything checks out good now, no problems electrically or mechanically as far as the important stuff. Obviously I have some electrical problems such as the climate control unit and LCD on my radio but the heart of the car is SOLID.

So I guess no one has the time to take picture for me??? I found a pic in the rear bumper removal thread and it appears that the pump is surrounded by the yellow foam and wedged in between the body panel and the little metal bracket in the trunk. This is how I have set mine up and it seems to be holding, I added a small piece of cloth to increase the pressure which makes the pump wedged in tighter. Can anyone confirm that this is how it is mounted??

Hum, I forgot. Will try this evening when I get back home, but have to empty the trunk first
