Re-upholstering the interior

Anybody know a good way to re-upholster the 2-tone leather on the driver's seat? Should I try to find an OEM leather cover replacement (if such a thing even exists), go w/ an aftermarket version, or have an upholstery shop do it?

Is the leather torn? If the leather is not ripped or torn then you could get away with redying it. I have seen this done many times and it is as good as new. I have even seen a seat with a lot of cracks throughout simply redyed and it came out looking good as new. A lot cheaper to go this route but if the leather is torn than you will need to re-upholster it for sure.

As far as which method you should go with, I would take it to a shop and have it done. I highly doubt you will be able to find any OEM replacement and after market just won't look the same. It all depends how you want it to look and how much you are willing to spend.

did u finally get a C43? if u did CONGRATS!!!
it depends how bad is the damage on the actual seat, get some quotes first from a good upholstery places around you then comapre it, another route is EBAY or your local junk yard or european junk yards, i know for a fact there's one on valley blvd in the city of industry..post some pics of your new toy..before you do something on the interior, make sure to have the TRANNY service first, just a piece of advice

No, not yet...I'm first trying to assess how much work/money/time it will take to repair a badly scuffed up/slightly torn driver's seat before deciding whether to buy this otherwise clean car. And yes, tranny is one of my primary concerns.

Scuffed takes 30 minutes, can be a DIY project, and very few people can tell it's been done (unless the doer is really lousy). Torn is a different issue. I'd pull the seat and let an upholsterer do it.

Here is the seat in question. So what do y'all think? Easy fix, or way too much of a hassle? As you can see, there are numerous subtle tears, w/ potential for huge tears in the seams, where there is considerable weakness.

If you decide to do a full reupholstery, GAHH carries the same OEM-spec hyde.

I actually just dropped off my Diesel Excursion to get the seats done yesterday. While I was there, he was doing a old AMG mercedes (just the center) and a Audi A8L.

It is possible to keep the outer leather (black) and just redo the center (white)

Perhaps think about going with a perforated leather or Alcantara.

BTW, I am located in Atlanta, Ga
