Hey all,
I'm high school right now (I'm 17), and I'm looking for an affordable AMG. A while back, I almost bought a friends W124 E320, until I found out it's wiring harness was fried, had a cracked cylinder head, and a leaking differential (he drag raced with it quite a bit). Talking to the local Mercedes fixer-uper, he said to look for post '98 Benzes, as they don't have the eco-frienldly damage-susceptable harness. However-I have read here that it's actually '97 when the harness was re-designed. Since my budget is 8.5-9K tops, a C36 seems to be more affordable at the moment. Is it true that '97's have the better harness?
