spare wheel/tire cover trim piece
umm, this is a rather idiotic question, but i have to ask it. does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting the black plastic spare tire cover trim piece back into that little receptacle on the trunk floor? i took it off yeeaaars ago, and have yet to be able to put it back properly 
, which makes it stick up too high, which in turn makes my trunk floor piece sit up too high. i keep meaning to ask my tech, but keep forgetting, so thought maybe someone here knew.

Check and make sure first that your spare tire (full tire spare and not the donut type) is "facing down" (the side where you put the 5 bolts in). This creates a deep well for your plastic spare tire cover to fit in properly by turning/screwing the plastic cover clockwise to the bottom (base) bracket.
