Hello everyone,

Herewith my newly acquied C36, despite the wiring harness to be replaced among several common little defekts, all fine and a great driving experience,

So far the working progress :
Done :
- Heating valve (Doppeventil) replaced
- Bi-xenon custom headlights
- original C36 shiftknob
- Wiper mechanism repaired
-
To do
- Front shocks
- lower FR arms bushing & setup
- Crankshaft seal
- Engine wiring harness
- broken right mirror bracket
- brake calipers silver paint
-A/C recharge

As already seen, most of these troubles are fairly common on the C36,
If you wish to share your experience, please do not hesitate,
Crossing fingers until the headgasket faills off !

Cheers from the Frenchy

Hi Niklas and bienvenue!
Nice looking C36 and I have never seen the grey dash surroundings. Depending on where you live in France, I live next door in CH ;-)) Not many European around on this forum, if if you get some posts from people up north "somewhere very cold". Keep us posted on your work in progress and should you have a question, just ASK. There are NO stupid questions.

Okay, tomorrow will be the day for a new engine harness and a little 988,51 euros out of my pocket....

just for reference, the part number of my harness 202 540 23 33 was replaced with 202 440 49 05

hope this will help anybody in the same situation,

Next report will state the results after fitting, despite I still cannot figure out where the small cable going down the oil filter is ending up .???? bottom of the engine block ? gearbox ??? still could't find where it ends....
Really no idea, I'll have to get down under the car tomorrow.... wish me luck !

job done !!!!!!
so happy !

running like a Princess to her wedding !

even got the camshaft noise away...!?, the smelly exhaust now runs clean, and the heating is somehow finally working !
Would not be surprised to finally get down my average fuel consumption below 16 litre/100Km

not to say it is an easy job, it is definitely worth changing the whole harness instead of trying to fix it, despite the ripp off at MB when purchasing the part, it definitely buys a timeless peace of mind...

Good to hear. I'm averaging 10.61lt/100km with my C43 and not at snail speeds....
