You can find a good 5.4 for around 4 or 5k! Not a bad price to what your getting. I am glad everyone got this E55 tranny confusion sorted while I was out!
The 1999 E55 tranny was that only year they didn't offer the tip style shifting. For some reason our r129 SL modded trannys don't fair very well but the E55 trannys seem to do just fine. I know a few guys get lucky and even keep the C43 tranny when swapping into a 5.4 and never have any issues with reg oil changes. GOOD LUCK! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I got it back today!!!![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
First I gotta give a huge THANK YOU to Moneyone for making this possible and to the community of MBWorld.org! I could not have kept it without the knowledge and assistance of everyone.![Wootrock](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wootrock.gif)
It seems to shift smoother when I place it P to D and so forth. Snow on the ground is a little frustrating cause i can't get to test her out yet. I needed front tires bad and planned on getting some just prior to it getting sick. Thats out of the way now too.
Moneyone said it shifted fine but around 80mph its at 3000rpm. A little higher than normal but shouldn't be an issue.
I am a very happy I got to keep it. Its been a rough few weeks but we survived thanks to all.
