Just got my HIDs from these guys. 6k low beams and 3k fogs. Anyone else got/installed theirs? Quickly plugged em up and all work fine. Not sure about the second bulb in the lowbeam or how exactly im going to get them into the fogs.... Any one done the fog replacement want to chime in?
Don't know what the 43 fogs are like, but the 36 ones are solid except for a plastic and epoxy circle at the bottom that has the wire going into it, through the epoxy, and out the other side to connect to the bulb. The weather stripping that came with the HIDs is a pretty large circle, but not big enough to fit the hole where the epoxy circle goes. It would be tough to drill a circle that big in the plastic cover.....

Got the lowbeams in tonight! Very simple, all I had to do was make a hole in the plastic headlight backing. Everything else was plug and play and fit perfectly. Haven't had a chance to test them on the road, or test the high beams on the road, but they do work. Now I just have to mount the brackets for the ballasts.
Foglight will be a bit more of a challenge though...

Pictures tomorrow!

Not sure what the C36 foglight housing is like but I started a thread a while ago and in it I posted how I did my foglight conversion with set by step instructions and pictures, located here (check out post #14):

Got mine the other day as well, but haven't had time to put them in yet. You said you drilled a hole?? I don't think the included instructions said anything about having to drill a hole? Also, not sure if your C36 has this feature, but my headlights automatically turn on for a few seconds after I turn the car off after having driven w/ the headlights on. Does this mean that my HIDs will also turn on like my current stock set up?

I installed my low beams today and they popped right on. I was a little pissed at first because they were flickering but after they warmed up everything was fine. Ill have more to say once the sun goes down and I can see what they look like on the road. Fogs are going in this weekend.

My foglights turn on after I shut my doors but my headlights do not... I'm sure your lights should do whatever they did before the HID kit was installed.

eclectic assortment of cars
Good to see that things are working out for everyone! I'm pumped to get mine. They (and a bunch of other stuff including the supercharger kit for my S2000!!!) have been delivered to my shipping depot in Blaine, but I won't get there until mid January. Black Friday deals are great! I wished I lived closer to the border, I would hop over all the time to shop!

Ok, so I got them not to fire on the first try once tonight and I was pretty pissed off about it. However, this was once out of about tens times that they didn't pop on the first time I turned the ***. I hope it was a fluke and they dont end up being like my old 55w set of china bulbs.

Well after a day and and a night full of driving, here is what I found:

Lights act exactly like the old halogens. Turn on on the first try, turn off immediately, nothing too hot that I notice, no flickering (siideways: lights should do whatever your OEM ones do, though I do not have that feature)

BRIGHTS ARE USELESS! On my lights, the 9005, there is the main Xenon bulb and a smaller halogen bulb screwed on to the base that wiring wise, act as the brights. These are completely useless as brights, as they are about 25% as bright as the OEM low beams! On the flip side, the Xenons are more than bright enough that I didn't feel the need to use brights, and the bulbs I suppose would make fine city lights if you're into that.

The only other problem I am experiencing is a bit of an electrical gremlin. Whenever I first turn on the xenons, and sometimes when I go from using the "highbeams" for a little while then back to the xenons, the power consumption jump will cause my instrument cluster to die for about a second, then it returns to normal. So basically every time I turn on the headlights, I must reset my clock..... not terrible, and I suspect its something with the 15 year old Benz wiring than some sort of fault with the xenons. I'm not sure where theres any sort of connection between the headlights and instrument cluster though....

As far as the blindness factor goes, I had someone else switch cars with me tonight, so from head on driving, the glare isn't terrible. It's definitely better than a lot of the ricey xenons I've seen, but slightly worse then some of the better OEM projector xenons. Basically it's a little annoying to look at, but nothing flash worthy. Following the car though, there were a good number of tree limbs barely in front and pretty high above the car that were being nicely illuminated, so some type of different lens would definitely be beneficial, but again, it's nothing that would raise a flag anywhere or warrant a flash.

Overall these are fantastic lights for and even better deal! These hold their own next to any Acura or new benz, don't look too ricey, and illuminate very well! Any one looking at these should probably buy the bi-xenon kit, though I don't know if they make a kit for our bulb, and for $30 bucks vs. $140, the value is worth not having brights, because the xenons are more than ample. Just don't know what I'll do about inspection....

Also siideways, the hole I drilled was for the wires to and from the ballast. Don't know if you've had a chance to look at them yet, but there is the headlight, and a male 3 prong connector next to it. All four (2 to headlight, 2 to connector, something like that) wires run down, through a circular weather gasket, then the headlight wires split into two connectors, which connect to the 2 hardwired connectors on the ballast, and the other connector wires plug into the ballast. I don't know how consistent these guys are with their products, so yours could be totally different. The 3 prong spade connector plugs into the the OEM connector, which is plugged directly into the OEM bulb, (so inside the headlight housing) the wires then go out of the housing, and to the ballast. Then the 2 connector wires go from the ballast, back through the weather-gasket, and to the Xenon bulb. So there has to be a way for the wires to get in and out of the headlight housing. I decided to drill a large hole in the housing, fit the gasket as best I could, then tape the rest so it was pretty sealed (I figured there probably won't be any water being blasted at it, right?) If you can think of any other way to get the wires there, do let me know.

These headlights officially made my sh*t list tonight. Started to strobe tonight for the first time and man was I pissed. I installed the extra cable they sent with the units to see if it helped and when I turned the car back on it had stopped. I hope this doesn't start back up or im sending them an email. I really want to know these lights will work well before I take the time to install them into my fog lights...

One of my halogens took a crap the day my HID kit came in. I hope they work as well. I don't have the fogs in the front bumper any more, so I'm going to try hooking my in-headlight fogs up this weekend when I put the HID's in just in case I have a problem with the HID's.

Really?? Damn...I still haven't had the chance to put mine in yet, been too busy last few w/e's! I hope mine don't give me the same problems that yours have. Did you call the vendor to see what the issue is/was? did they offer to refund your money?

I put mine in over the weekend. I also wired in some halogen H1 fogs into the headlights just in case I have some HID problems, they'll pass as headlights. So far, so good but haven't been out much with them on.

I only drive mine on the weekends, so I'm not gonna get much time on them, but we'll see how they hold up.
