HID deals
Don't know what the 43 fogs are like, but the 36 ones are solid except for a plastic and epoxy circle at the bottom that has the wire going into it, through the epoxy, and out the other side to connect to the bulb. The weather stripping that came with the HIDs is a pretty large circle, but not big enough to fit the hole where the epoxy circle goes. It would be tough to drill a circle that big in the plastic cover.....
Foglight will be a bit more of a challenge though...

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Lights act exactly like the old halogens. Turn on on the first try, turn off immediately, nothing too hot that I notice, no flickering (siideways: lights should do whatever your OEM ones do, though I do not have that feature)
BRIGHTS ARE USELESS! On my lights, the 9005, there is the main Xenon bulb and a smaller halogen bulb screwed on to the base that wiring wise, act as the brights. These are completely useless as brights, as they are about 25% as bright as the OEM low beams! On the flip side, the Xenons are more than bright enough that I didn't feel the need to use brights, and the bulbs I suppose would make fine city lights if you're into that.
The only other problem I am experiencing is a bit of an electrical gremlin. Whenever I first turn on the xenons, and sometimes when I go from using the "highbeams" for a little while then back to the xenons, the power consumption jump will cause my instrument cluster to die for about a second, then it returns to normal. So basically every time I turn on the headlights, I must reset my clock..... not terrible, and I suspect its something with the 15 year old Benz wiring than some sort of fault with the xenons. I'm not sure where theres any sort of connection between the headlights and instrument cluster though....
As far as the blindness factor goes, I had someone else switch cars with me tonight, so from head on driving, the glare isn't terrible. It's definitely better than a lot of the ricey xenons I've seen, but slightly worse then some of the better OEM projector xenons. Basically it's a little annoying to look at, but nothing flash worthy. Following the car though, there were a good number of tree limbs barely in front and pretty high above the car that were being nicely illuminated, so some type of different lens would definitely be beneficial, but again, it's nothing that would raise a flag anywhere or warrant a flash.
Overall these are fantastic lights for and even better deal! These hold their own next to any Acura or new benz, don't look too ricey, and illuminate very well! Any one looking at these should probably buy the bi-xenon kit, though I don't know if they make a kit for our bulb, and for $30 bucks vs. $140, the value is worth not having brights, because the xenons are more than ample. Just don't know what I'll do about inspection....
