a ****? Your butt dyno must really be kicking in high gear
No hp gains.
And your car already has a cold air intake from the factory.
The oem filters already outflow all the cfm the engine can use.
Falling for snake oil does not make your car any quicker.....Bald tires and all.
Matter of fact why not buy new tires instead of buying things that do nothing for performance.

Its ram air if you cut out the tabs I guess... Wouldn't say it was otherwise. More like ram into tabs and moves around it and is then sucked in oddly shaped tubes air...

Personally would not remove the tabs in the grille, not unless you want to eat stones, insects and all sort of junk particularly water when it rains

I have tabs and I just cleaned all of the above out of my box... That's why the filters are there. I will remove them as soon as I can, the are a lot of guys running with out them and have had no issues at all.

Its RAM even with the tab there. Just consider the amount of air a car at 80kph has to push throu, you will find that air will be force fed into that tube tab or no tab

Right, however- the air is raming into the tab first and then moving around it and being forced into the tube. Tabs does nothing but slow the process and cause the design to be less effective.

Do u really think all the air that hits the rad goes thru! most of it doesnt and just finds its way into every possible opening. i am more than sure that the tab has no effect worth mentioning.

With my Avantgarde grille it has a tab built in on the right side looking forward (passenger side for us with RHD). On the other side (left) I tacked on between the clips and grille a rubber tab which I found attached to the original grille. If I were to remove them, then I would definitely get some fine mesh around the intake opening to keep the large crud flying in. Don't know about the amount of water getting in at high speed without the tabs, but until further notice the M113 doesn't work on H2O, so don't think it will appreciate much

So after 3 days of driving around with the K&N filters, there is a huge difference on my car, the engine is a bit louder at WOT, with a heavier base to it, and it pulls alot better. I highly recommend everybody does this to their cars!!!!

Also, everyone across the pond is using BMC and stating they are amazing. We don't hear much about them here(USA), and you will pay to get them but everyone LOVES them!

Installed mine today and let them sit at idle for about ten mins before I took it out. My review is: these DID make a noticable difference in performance. My car now looses traction all the way through first gear. Highway speeds climb faster than before also. I really can't explain it any bette... Just buy them and try it! Worth every dime...

In my opinion, only a test on a dyno using different filters available (OEM, Green, K&N, etc.) would settle the "power" gain issue. Concerning oiling the filter, I agree with all the comments not to oil too much.
I have a JR "blue" filter on my C240T and it did have a slight hiccup when accelerating after cleaning the filter. Probably a bit too much oil which flowed through the MAF, but it did clear up quickly. It does give a nicer intake noise, but concerning power, honestly I can't say I noticed a big difference.

Few people use oil on green filters. Even though manufacturer provides it.
The mesh is better than K&N and it does not need to rely on oil to catch particles. I have compared my K&N and Green filters side by side and that is my observation.
I used K&N all the time in my rice rocket years, i went with green when upgraded to lexus and benz.

I've had K&N when I got my car and replaced it with oem paper. It feels slower. My butt dyno is not calibrated but there's little delay in rpm increase. I've put on supersprint res and catback so there was more noticeable difference I guess.
