Motortrend FULL Review of C36

A huge 6 page article on the C36 from 1995. Very good reading.

I learned a lot about the C36 in the M3 vs C36 article. I had no idea they used the 5spd gear box in 97... I thought you guys were all using the E420 and 500E's 4spd. Pretty awesome car!

Yeah up until 97 ALL 202s used a 4 speed hydraulic which is a bullet proof tranny but sluggish compared to a 5 speed.

I think its close to the same tranny I had in my 400e. If I am right, then I enjoyed that tranny a lot. Very smooth shifts and never skipped a beat.

the 4 sp is fine, but it makes cruising at hwy speeds sound like a terrible snoring episode. it sorely needs one more gear for overdrive..
