503 yours are 35w and I believe the stock HIDs are just 35, so the extra wattage might explain importfan's warning light?

DDM HID Kit, 55W, H7, 6000K (Kit / Package) with code eliminator
6000k @55W is closer to 5000-5500k @ 35W - should be good for daytime "white balance"

Some cars will generate a bulb out warning message or even turn the headlight/foglights off when connecting HID to them. Our cancellation modules fool the computer in the car and allow the HIDs to work flawlessly.

You guys across the pond seem to be lucky when it comes down to vehicle mods....
The days of after market HID 's , removal of C43 secondary CAT's, re-maps etc have all but been killed off in the UK with the latest yearly MOT 2012 rules.
My everyday VW just failed the MOT because of it's HID's. Apparently if they are OEM fitted its fine, but if the car previously had halogens it can't be converted.... something about the rear reflector not spreading the light correctly bah!

All stock HIDs have 35W, all stock Halogens have 55W.
For HID kits you can choose between 35W and 55W. The lamp is the sam, difference is a high power resistor.
If you want to use the HID in high beam light, you should remember, that they needsome seconds to deliver full light power. When they are cold, it can take up to 20 seconds.

Yeah I saw the error eliminators but I didn't believe I needed them, as the wattage draw difference between the halogens and HIDs is 0.Originally Posted by hoontastic

Also, noticed this morning that when I turned on the HIDs, I didn't get the bulb out light (going to and from my destination). However, my second trip out generated the bulb-out light. Interesting...

Could it be a coincidence? Have you checked all the bulbs? Are both HIDs on when the light is on?Originally Posted by importfan21

I've checked all of my bulbs. I'm running LEDs on everything (so no burning out) except the 4 ways and they're all functioning. The LED tails have built-in resistors and I don't get the bulb-out for them (had them for going on 2 months now).

Sorry to ask this, but I feel its best here.
Can someone give me a link to remove my c36 foglights? I can't figure it out besides taking off the whole front bumper.
I am installing hids btw

Don't have a link but I've done it. I just jacked up the front, took off the lower splash shields/brake ducts and undid the 2 (I think) mounting screws or bolts on each fog. Pretty straight forward. If the fog light is stuck to the mount, just undo the mount, that's what I had to doOriginally Posted by Jasssc

i just ordered 35W hids for the fogs with code eliminators. Both of my fog lenses are cracked and I ordered two ones. Is there a pdf or thread that lays out how to get at the fogs. Whats the easiest way to get to them?

3 ways to get to it, all of them a PITA in my opinion, so pick your poison.Originally Posted by hoontastic

1) Go through under the car/wheel well
2) Go through the engine bay (hope you have long, skinny arms)
3) Pull the bumper

2) I don't recall how the housing is attached, but changing bulbs is nearly identical to low/high beams. Just take off the dust cover and boom, you have access to the bulb.
3) Not sure, as I haven't tried that method.

Pull the bumper, there is no doubt it is the easiest way. We are talking 4 bolts and it's off. No to mention it makes it way easier to mount the ballasts as well as replace the fog light housing.Originally Posted by hoontastic

I started a thread on fog light HID conversion, check it out.
