I bought a '98 C43 about 6 months ago. It's had a 1200-watt sound system, with two amps in it, for over 5 years. It was professionally installed, so I figured they prolly added a deep-cycle marine battery to the circuit and/or got a high-watt ampflifier. But no! The battery started dying on me and, to my surprise, it was all still running off the original 13 year old battery! I'm amazed.

I just bought a Duralast Platinum to replace it... $160!!!

Amazing life span for a battery. The battery in my 98' c240T lasted also over eleven years as it was manufactured one year before my car. My old battery died very quickly at the start of winter but had survived all those years living outside in all temperatures and weather.

Hey ...my dad's 98' c240T 's battery lasted at least a good 10 years too!

Could be that the bigger batteries last longer...
