Very true! When I was 16 (4 years ago) I had 11k to buy/ put a down payment on either a C36 or a E36 M3 my parents did not want me in a C43. At that age I knew both where way too much car for a 16 year old but I was a German car freak! I went with the M3 because it had a 5-Speed. But I would think these would be more enthusiast cars by now. Im kinda in the market for one as a daily.

sounds a bit like my story, i am 17 bought my c36 when i was 16. (live in holland so i still have to wait another year to drive it) i really love german cars. Not only because they are fast but for the looks and ride quality etc. Hope I can enjoy my car for a very long time. ps bought it myself

(Mainly my Mother) The excuse was its a "V8". My dad had a SL55 at the time and knew I would mod the C43. His excuse was "just dont make it faster than mine" plus I did a lot of track days so I thought the M3 would be perfect.

Thats good I'm sure you will love it more because you bought it yourself! When I bought my M3 I took care of it like no other. My neighbors would tell me "that if I kept washing it 3 times a week the paint would wash off" hahaha But enjoy it buddy and keep up with maintenance and I am sure it will last you very long.
